Challenges
I have climbed a number of mountains although I am not a mountain climber. Usually it comes in a way that I did not plan. My wife and I spent 1 month in the beautiful country of Colombia, and according to our dear friends in Bogota, the capital, we saw more of the country in 1 month than most Colombians will in a lifetime. The biggest surprise was horseback riding with my youngest brother and 5 friends. We thought we would be leisurely going on a horse trail but we ended up going up the Andes Mountains, we were up 15,000 feet and it was difficult to breathe. We went with our horses slipping since the rocky road was wet and all I was concentrating on was not falling off the horse, this was a 4 1/2 hour horseback ride! Needless to say, it was a one time experience and never again. The next thing we signed up for was paragliding off a high cliff also 15,000 feet up, wow! We also went on a bamboo raft down the river but that was mild compared to the other 2 experiences. We visited Medellin, Cartagena, Bogota, Armenia (the Coffee Triangle) and visited many of Colombia's attractions. I highly recommend visiting Colombia, you will not regret it.

Yes, it was an amazing country to visit, very safe, super friendly people, a variety of cultures within the country, easy to travel, we used their Uber version called "GRAB" and it was so cheap but you do have to speak a little Spanish, most Colomianos do not speak English.
I have now heard a second person say this, Roy! Perhaps I will put it on my bucket list!

Absolutely, our very first time visiting South America and we were NOT disappointed. Colombia made a big comeback after the notorious Pablo Escobar, we visited Medellin, his hometown, and went to the graves of all his family. We loved the beaches off Cartagena, the Coffee Triangle tasting various coffees was amazing, of course our adventures were too numerous to mention and if we would have known what we signed up for, probably would NOT have done it. All in all, it is a wonderful country, super save and friendly people everywhere.
I also love coffee, growing up in Indonesia and been back and forth 33 times since January 2005 to help tsunami victims, there are so many varieties of coffees in the country of my birth.
