900% Growth In Three Months – YouTube
I thought that I would write a post as my YouTube channel has grown considerably, over the last three months. In fact, it's grown over 900%. I actually started this particular YouTube channel about seven years ago, however, my posting had been extremely sporadic, not deliberately, but just the fact that I was busy. As we know, in the Internet marketing world, being consistent is key.
Over the past three months, I have been in a position to post or upload my YouTube videos much more regularly, almost every day, but not quite. I'm sure that this made a huge difference. However, I did have a few breakout videos, which people appear to wanted to watch, one particular video is approaching 50,000 views and I also had a few similar videos, which had some good viewing figures. I think we all know that feeling when we think we have made a good video, but it only receives 20 views in a month, for example!
Subscribers Are Up
At the time of writing, my channel has 9520 subscribers, but just three months ago, or slightly over, I had only 700 subscribers, so it is a considerable increase. Despite the subscriber number, it's also important to remember that, it is good to have subscribers, however, many people come to your channel through Google search, etc, so even if you only have a few subscribers, your channel or video should be searchable.
Despite my extremely sporadic posting, my channel was growing, but it was at a very slow pace. I'm not particularly researching my videos, I am really just documenting my online journey, so everything I learn something new, or maybe do something a bit different, I will document this and create a video.
The reason I'm writing this is that many of us have websites and YouTube channels that may be a bit slow, but when we get that breakout video or post, it can really help to grow our business. So keep moving forward, don't overthink and try and be consistent.

Have you started with YouTube and are you growing a channel? I can definitely recommend YouTube, I actually find it easier than blogging.
Anyway, thank you for reading and please leave your thoughts below.

That’s an impressive run, Roy — congrats. It’s a great example of what consistency plus a few breakout pieces can actually do when you give a platform enough time to work.
I also like your point about subscribers vs. search. A lot of people get hung up on sub counts and forget that discoverability and relevance matter just as much, especially on YouTube where Google search still drives a ton of views.
Documenting what you’re learning instead of over-engineering every video is a smart approach too. It keeps things natural and sustainable, which is usually what makes consistency possible in the first place.
Thanks for sharing this — it’s a good reminder that steady effort can suddenly compound when the timing clicks.
Hello Chuck,
Thank you for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated.
It really does seem like consistency is key when it comes to Internet marketing. I think this is why many people struggle to take off, as many people are working full-time jobs, so it's difficult to get things going.
I agree with you, regarding subscribers, but you are right. I guess if I was looking for something on YouTube and there were two videos that were similar, I would probably go for the video with more subscribers, but that's only me!
I also read recently that only about 1.2% of people that watch a YouTube channel, come through the subscribers. I can't remember if it was talking about someone's individual channel, or as a whole. But I was quite surprised that it was that low, in fact, incredibly low.
Yes, I literally am documenting my journey, there are two main reasons for this, sometimes it's good for me, as it reminds me how to do something, especially if I haven't carried out a task lately. Secondly, it helps other people, so really, I'm sharing what I learn.
I think we just have to keep pushing out content and make the most of it, it seems to work!
Have a great weekend.
Roy
Well said, Roy. That stat about subscribers surprised me too — it really reinforces how important search and discoverability are, even when subscriber numbers look impressive on the surface.
You’re also spot on about time being the real constraint for most people. Consistency sounds simple until real life shows up. That’s why the “document as you go” approach makes so much sense — it lowers the friction to creating and actually helps twice, like you said.
At the end of the day, showing up and publishing seems to be the common thread that keeps working. Appreciate you sharing the insight, and hope you have a great weekend as well.
Thank you, Chuck.
It's nice to have lots of subscribers, but it just shows that it's not that important. However, if you want to become monetised, we need a thousand subscribers. But I don't think monetisation is quite what people think it is, especially in the beginning.
There have been a few young people on Wealthy Affiliate, who have been highly successful, which is absolutely brilliant and I really do admire them. However, if someone is living at home and has minimal expenses and no real time limitations, it's a big plus point. On the other end of the scale, I admire these young men fear really taking solid action, going through the training and being consistent.
So, I really understand where you're coming from, Chuck. I have just recently sold as a very small off-line business, as I have been able to free up time. Prior to that, I was snatching time by getting up early in the morning and sometimes doing things in the evening. But I appreciate for people with full-time jobs and families, etc, it can be difficult. This is why we have to make the most of every minute.
I started researching Internet marketing, way back in 2004, as I could see the power and the potential of the Internet, especially after my first broadband connection, that really did change everything. One thing that I have seen, is the people that who are consistent, are the winners. We need to do the same.
Have a great weekend and thank you for commenting, Chuck.
Roy
You’re exactly right, Roy. Monetisation is often misunderstood early on — it’s a milestone, not the finish line, and it rarely looks impressive at the beginning. The real value is in building something that keeps working once the foundations are in place.
I also appreciate your perspective on time and life stages. It’s a very real factor, and not talked about enough. Making progress while juggling work, family, and responsibilities is a different game than having unlimited hours — but consistency still levels the field over time.
Your point about seeing this space evolve since the early days really resonates too. Tools and platforms change, but the people who show up steadily are the ones who tend to win in the long run.
Thanks for the exchange — always good to compare notes with someone who’s seen multiple cycles of this industry. Enjoy your weekend as well.
-Chuck
That's a very true, Chuck, we are really building for the future!
In a way, some people have advantages over others, when it comes to building a sideline.
There is only one way to grow a business, and that's to take action and to turn up!
Thank you, Chuck, have a great Sunday.
Roy
I am happy for your success Roy
I have not ventured in the YouTube video marketing world at this time, since my original website crashed I had to start all over again but I am sticking to WA this time around.
Jeff
Thank you for that Jeff, I appreciate that!
I think that's a good thing to do, make a plan and stick with it, Jeff. I'm sorry that your site crashed, that's not good!
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Roy
You do have a good plan going for you, imagine 300% growth per month on average is amazing results.
Keep doing what you are doing and keep us updated
Jeff
It's funny with YouTube, although it's probably the same with blog posts, sometimes you just have a video that people really like and it gets watched. So I need to make another video or something similar that gets watched to keep up that momentum, Jeff.
It's good to kind of get on a roll though.
Roy
Happy you are on a roll on YouTube, Roy
I imagine finding what people are wanting is the most difficult part of the strategy for video watching, but people seem to love watching videos.
Keep doing whatever you are doing
Jeff
Thank you for that, Jeff, it's appreciated.
I believe the fact that I'm documenting my journey, people can see the process that I am working on, so I don't have to think too hard about what I'm going to create. One thing I am aware of, is that people's attention spans are very short. I guess that's why platforms like Instagram and YouTube shorts are popular!
Have a great weekend.
Roy
I hope you are having a nice weekend Roy
Sounds like you have a good plan that is working for you. People today do have a short attention span, so if you use anything lengthy it better be extremely interesting to them.
It does seem like Instagram and YouTube shorts are still going strong, I don't go on either of them so I am not familar with them all that well.
Take care
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I am, thank you, Jeff, I have quite a few things on this weekend. I trust that your weekend is going well.
I hear you, Jeff, I find it absolutely amazing that people have such short attention spans, especially in an age where we are supposed to be educated! I think the difference between longform and short form content on YouTube, is that the people who are willing to listen to longer videos are more likely to be buyers. Whereas, people just scrolling through YouTube shorts, are just doing it for the sake of doing it. Possibly!
I'm not really a fan of YouTube shorts, however, and I think this is probably what many people do, I might look at YouTube shorts last thing at night, but the truth of the matter is, I should be sleeping! I agree with you, many people love these Instagram, short videos, I'm not particularly a fan.
A very happy Sunday to you.
Roy
Hello Roy
I hope you are having a very nice Sunday.
As you know, I am not a big fan of social media for promoting my websites. I just have never received enough traffic or sales from them to make them a priority in my marketing strategy.
People who are serious online are mainly interested I think if either two things, one to be entertained or finding answers to their problems. Focusing on these are our best strategies to reach the people who are going to spend more time reading or watching our promotions, now how many of them are using social media for these is an important question we need to find the answer to.
You are not alone staying up past your bedtime, I tell myself each night I am going to go to bed earlier which rarely happens. Many times I am writing, publishing, or researching for answers. You will not find me wasting much time playing games or getting entertained online.
I used to spend way too much time on social media thinking this was my best strategy, now I am not doing that since it never paid off that much for me in the past.
Balancing our time to be the most productive is extremely a challenge, we just never know where online is our best place to spend our time.
I have not run into on Linkedin yet, but I do keep my eye out for you or any posts.
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I did have a good Sunday, I went to visit some good friends of mine, which was nice. I hope yours was good.
That's interesting, Jeff, and if that's the case, then it would be pointless carrying on with Facebook. Having said that, I do think that Facebook has changed a lot recently, especially with the new updates from Google, over the past couple years. It's probably made platforms like Facebook more necessary, as people are getting the same traction from their websites.
That's a good question, I don't know the answer, but as I look through the Facebook pages that I follow, on my feed, I do hear some interesting quotes and principles, etc, which could answer questions.
Likewise, Jeff, I don't like wasting time, I have never played an online game, as I believe they are seriously addictive, so I won't be going down that line! I do think that there is a balance and sometimes it's good to do something that's relaxing on the mind before we go to bed. I will sometimes watch something like Laurel and Hardy, it's good to go to bed laughing rather than having business things on your mind!
I do know exactly where you're coming from, Jeff, regarding social media, for example, I really like Twitter, it's easy to use and quick. I generally use Twitter for hearing news which the mainstream media fails to report. I do know some people who get a lot of traction from Twitter, however, it seems like you have to be posting all day long about different news stories, or whatever your interest may be, to get traction. Most of us can't do that, which brings us back to having a website.
If you put my name into LinkedIn, I will come up. I think we just have to find out what works best for us. I think probably, at the moment, it's a combination of YouTube and my websites.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hello Roy,
I had a pretty productive weekend. Wrote some article for this week to publsh to keep Google happy. Worked on a long-term plan for my websites for recurring income, I just don't feel making a few dollars here and there is enough any more.
Before Twitter became X, I was pretty active on that platform with followers. People on there used to help each other by sharing each others posts, but many of them have left since it is no longer Twiter and became X.
I did find you on Linkedin and sent you a request to follow each other. Do you kmow if many of Wealthy Affiliate members are on there as well?
YouTube and your websites I agree are your bread and butter more likely, I am using Linkedin and Pinterest right now to see how it goes with them. I don't spend a lot of time on the platforms, but I do try to be supportive of peoples posts when I am on there.
What are your plans for Christmas?
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
That sounds really good, Jeff, especially the fact you're planning ahead and keeping Google happy, it's important that we keep growing and make the necessary changes. I'm glad your weekend was good.
I like the speed and simpleness of Twitter, over Facebook, but it does seem to take a long time to get traction. I'm not really using it particularly for business, but I like it for news items. For news items, it's got better, but probably not for general use. Having said that, I'm looking more at other people's tweets rather than publishing, rightly or wrongly.
There are a few people on Wealthy Affiliate, who are on LinkedIn, Jeff. A couple of years ago, or maybe more, I wrote a post about LinkedIn and asking people to join me. I just carried out a search on Wealthy Affiliate for the post, but I can't find. Wealthy Affiliate search is pretty poor, to be fair.
I definitely believe that LinkedIn is a great platform to be on for business and I know there's lots of training on Pinterest, on the Wealthy Affiliate platform.
I thought of you yesterday, as another platform that I'm on, the owner has a Facebook page and yesterday he was wishing people happy Christmas. He then received a ban for communicating with people and receiving messages, until the end of the year!! Classic Facebook behaviour! Why do they do something like that, to someone who is highly active and not writing anything offensive, unbelievable!
I'm going to my brother and sister-in-law is in the village, Jeff and then visiting my sister on Sunday. I plan to have a couple of weeks off, which is always good. Having said that, I would like to focus on my online business, as it's something that I really enjoy.
How about you, Jeff?
I hope you have a fantastic Christmas.
All the best.
Roy
Hello Roy,
It sounds like you have a good holiday plan for Christmas, I will be staying home as I usually do. I will spend Christmas Eve & Christmas Day with my mother, she lives in the same apartment building which is nice.
I hope to get my newsletter service setup during the holiday season, or at least shortly after the new year begins. I was using MailerLIte for a very short time, but it was not working well for me so I need to switch to another service. AI recommends Brevo, I think that is the name it gave me.
The free plan allows 100,000 subscribers which is extremely generous, but it does only allow 300 daily emails with the free plan, but if I get enough subscribers I can always upgrade to a paid plan.
I am suprised there are not more WA members on Linkedin, maybe members with non-business niches don't think its worth their time. I would think there are enogh members promoting WA that would be on Linkedin, we only have so much time so we must choose our platforms that will benefit our niche the most.
A couple week break sounds like a nice vacation for you, I wish you the best with your holiday plans.
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I always enjoy Christmas, Jeff, as it seems like many people are off work and more relaxed. I also enjoy the reason for the season. I think it's nice when family are near, in the UK we often seem miles apart from each other, I'm not referring to myself, but other families. In Greece, where my ex-wife comes from, they are far more family orientated, which is nice.
I have always used Aweber, Jeff, it was one of the popular autoresponders, when I started, but there are a lot more out there now. I haven't changed, even though they may be cheaper options. It will be interesting to see how you find the new system.
That sounds very generous, Jeff! That's very true, as you mention, you can always upgrade. Are you able to take your customers with you, if you want to change? That's quite important.
To be fair, I'm not sure how many people are that serious about business on Wealthy Affiliate, I'm not saying that against the platform, as I know that Kyle always encourages good business practices. I genuinely think that anyone in business, or at least if you're serious, should have a LinkedIn profile, it certainly can't do any harm.
A very happy Christmas to you.
Roy
Merry Christmas Roy,
Over the years I feel we have lost the close family as our ancestors had, that seems to be the case with my own family anyway.
Christmas has been commercialized by the merchants which I feel isn't a good thing in the USA, but that is the way these days it seems year-round now.
AWeber is always a good one to consider for sure, I will have to check it out as well before making a decision. AI recommends Brevo as my best choice for a free service starting out, but choosing a good service is not an easy decision.
After my experience with MailerLite that claims to be beginner-friendly with tons of website errors, I am leary about what service to trust now.
I am afraid that I agree with you about how serious some WA members are about a business, maybe some its just a hobby or extra income.
It does suprise me there are only a handful of WA members using Linkedin, I did a search on Linkedin and sent invites to them. So far, I have not received very many respond back.
Well I will let you go celebrate your Christmas now,
Jeff
Thank you, Anne, for commenting, it's appreciated.
Yes, it certainly seems that way, we have to turn up regularly.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Roy,
I checked out your YouTube channel and saw the "breakout video" you mentioned. It's the one that shows why one cannot enroll for extended Microsoft support. These types of videos always have the potential to go viral!
I wonder how I can incorporate this strategy into my niche-specific YT channel. 😊
By the way, I successfully enrolled, thanks to your tutorial.
Have a great weekend!
Good morning Alice,
Thank you for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated.
That's the one, Alice! I'm basically documenting my journey on this channel, so I thought it was appropriate. I've actually talking to a friend of mine, probably back in September and we were talking about Windows 10 updates and my friend told me that Windows were going to create updates, which I didn't know. So I decided to make a video on the subject, as it's all related to my Internet marketing journey.
I think every niche has something where they can have a breakout video, however, I think it's important to keep publishing regularly and then that breakout video will probably come out of the blue. I had no idea that this video would be a breakout video.
On another channel I have, a good friend of mine built a little 12 V generator, I'm going back several years now, the last time I looked it had over 1/4 of a million views! I do think it's important to keep within a niche, for example, if I put a cake making video, on my garden equipment channel, people will be thinking that they didn't sign up for that and rightly so!
That's good, Alice, I'm glad the video helped.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Roy
