I Use AI Every Day – But Sometimes It Just Gets Things Wrong!

I use ChatGPT multiple times per day, it really is a fantastic assistant, I can ask questions, etc and many other things, and within seconds, I have my answer. I think anyone using AI, would be lost without it! It's amazing how quickly we get used to products and software, etc.
Recently, I was using Camtasia, which is my screen recording and video editing software and something that I have used for many years. I was asking ChatGPT if I could have my script on the screen and then edit it out later. Sometimes, there are products that we have used for years, but sometimes we just can't get our head around something, this is where AI is so helpful.
Anyway, ChatGPT told me that I didn't need a script as Camtasia already has a teleprompter built into it. This really surprised me, as having used Camtasia for around 15 years, I hadn't heard of such a thing. However, there are regular updates and things change rapidly.
So I asked ChatGPT, how to find the teleprompter and it gave be very clear instructions about where it was, however, it wasn't there. It then went on to tell me that I probably didn't have the latest version, even though I do. I then gave it a screenshot of what I was seeing and it told me that the "Rev" setting needs to be turned off, I didn't think that would make any difference, but I followed instructions. Still no sign of any teleprompter!
ChatGPT was given me very clear instructions of how to find the teleprompter, they really were step-by-step, detailed instructions, but still nothing!

I carried out a quick Google search to see if Camtasia had a teleprompter and sure enough, the search said that it doesn't have a teleprompter, which is exactly what I thought!
The reason that I'm writing this, is that ChatGPT was so convincing, so confident about how to find the teleprompter, it really sounded like it knew what it was talking about, however, the teleprompter on Camtasia doesn't exist!
The whole process probably took around 30 to 40 minutes, for something that didn't exist! I do find it absolutely amazing how ChatGPT can be so confident and yet so wrong. I think this is a lesson for all of us, to make sure we check things, when we are using AI, as it still gets fax seriously wrong.
A couple of thoughts and questions.
Do you believe everything that AI tells you?
Has AI delivered any big blunders?
Thank you for reading and have a great day.
