Find Your Passion

As a young boy I always wanted to work with wood, I would go down my dads shed and spend hours making things out of wood.

Somethings worked out and some not so much, I did my best with limited outside help and timber to work with.

Not to look like I am getting of track but bare with me for a second

Not sure if anyone remembers the movie

The Bird Man of Alcatraz

As he was locked up in prison, he had limited resources to build anything, so he got a wooden fruit boxes and with a piece of glass he cut the wood to make a bird cage

Even the bars were made from the wood from the box.

It was my favorite movie, so I did the same thing I got an old fruit box and made a bird cage

Funny how a movie can make it look simpler than it really is, it took forever to cut the strips to make the bars by hand, I was using a sharp knife not a piece of glass and still a long process

Passion Is Where Your Heart Is

With my passion for woodwork I thought I wanted to be a carpenter, so I did do my apprenticeship and worked as a carpenter/ handyman for years

In saying that working with wood as my job was not my passion, working with wood was my hobby

Just took me a long time to realize it

My New Passion Through Getting Sick

When I got sick and had to stop work, I was just stuck at home with not a lot to do, and my own head was my worst enemy.

It was a really bad time and so happy I do not live their anymore.

This is were I started pottering on my computer and I had limited idea what I was doing.

I would keep going trying to work it out, many times I got to a stage that I had to call my son-in-law to help me out, which he did without question.

I felt bad asking every time my computer had an issue.

So, I would watch what he did and slowly got to know what to do

It took a long time to get to were I am now, I can do most things myself which makes life so much easier

My New Passion Has Me Obsessed

Now with my newfound love of the internet I thought I would love to work online and start my own business

I see so many sites promising to make me rich in limited time, some even had peopled who had made $1000 in their first week with hardly any work

How can you not believe them..LOL

Sure, we all have seen them and know the real story of get-rich-quick schemes, in saying that I got sucked it to a few and parted with a bit of money along the way for limited results.

So, after many attempts at different ways of working online and nothing really working, I got to a stage I thought it must not be for me.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel

To this day after saying I can not do this anymore I do not know why I clicked on a link for Wealthy Affiliates, I did just to take a look around with a lot of skepticism and a lot of doubt it would be different to all the others

It only took me about an hour of looking around the site, doing some online checking as I always do.

OK I will say I was hooked after that and went Premium that minute as I could see how different it was, my view has not changed as time goes on, my love for this wonderful platform only grows stronger

i have never looked back from the day I joined WA, with the most amazing training that keeps on giving to the awesome community that give from their heart.

I finally found a place to call home

Everyone have a amazing day and thank you for being part of my journey

Hi Ross, great journey....I love to read how people came to do what they do. I heard the story of Col Sanders yesterday. After selling fried chicken in his neighbourhood and started KFC at the age of 65. Its always a good time to start a new venture. Thanks for sharing...cheers Jen
