Watching the French Open Tennis

The next four evenings, we will take our dinner to the sofa and settle down to watch the women's semi-finals, the men's semi-finals, and then both finals. With Rafa Nadal out, the men's competitors are younger. I'm a fan of another Spaniard, the young Alcaraz, who likes to be called Carlitos. On the women's side, I've been enjoying the Ukrainian who has been out while having a baby with her husband the Frenchman Gael Monfils. Actually, I don't even know if she is still in now. Another of my favorite women, Ons Jabeur of Tunisia, is out.

My husband and I do like to watch tennis. We used to play a little, but I was so inept that I gave it up decades ago and Kelly found people of his skill level to play with. He doesn't play now.

As for the rest of my life. it's the same-old-same-old. I'm still organizing my office and writing a bit on my memoir about growing up with my father. I still write in Scrivener.

The French Open is the only major that is played on clay. It's interesting to watch. I'll be less distracted when it's over!

It seems like every time I would tune into that, Nadal is always beating Federer on a clay court.

Hope your enjoying it, Rosana!

Isaiah 😊

Now, that sounds like fun. My ex, Alan, used to coach tennis at the college where he taught, so I did my best to learn...Many hours of practice on the backboard. Never got particularly good, but enjoyed it. At least if you learn to play, then watching the game can be more exciting.

Sounds like a pleasurable activity that you two enjoy! Very awesome indeed, Rosana!

Enjoy the viewing!

Thanks for sharing and enjoy the matches

It’s great that you and your husband enjoy the tennis. I watch for a while and then move on. I certainly understand the appeal. Have fun.

Sounds great, Rosana! I'm not necessarily a big fan of tennis but I hope you continue to enjoy yourself.

I am enjoying the french open too! I like the fact that new players are having an opportunity to win this year. I do like Alcaraz too and I am betting on him at the same time I think there is too much pressure on him, we all expect him to be the next Nadal. Lol
Thanks for sharing!

Big fan of the clay court (and tennis). Will be interested to see if Alcaraz can beat Joker...and it looks like Nadal's days of owning the clay are a thing of the past.

That's awesome that you guys are into Tennis :) I hope you have an incredible time. I have relatives who lived near Wimbledon (suburbs of London) at one point
