I installed Disqus. You hate it but.
I want to start by saying that the only reason I don't use basic WP comments because they are a mess! I want people to see to which comment I replied and what I said to that person.
WP messes it up a lot!
Example of it's in-functionality (as they are shown on the comments section, in order):
- Me- "Well what you need to do is blah blah (answer to question 1) "
- Me - " You need (answer to question 2)
- Person asking question 1
- Person asking question 2
Total nonsense!
I know that Disqus requires a sign in (Twitter, facebook, Disqua and others) but given what WP provides, it is a better option. In our day and age, most people have these accounts, and those who are willing to comment (either bad or good comments) will not mind commenting with their profiles.
If you have any idea how to sort wordpress comments to make more sense with the basic WP commenting system, I would like to hear about it.

That's definitely a smart thing to do. That way the person you are talking to is able to distinctly see that you replied back to them. You have some nice thoughts in this post.
