I find that the best way to improve is to set goals, find people who have achieved what you want, and study them.

DO NOT COPY THEM!

You can not copy someone else's success, you can only study it to find out how to improve your own.

Yesterday I blogged briefly about a successful Facebook post. We all know that this is powerful. In my enthusiasm for my most successful post ever, I did not mention that this was not a paid ad. I finally found something that peaked lots of people's interest, and made them want to read further. This was not my first post, paid or otherwise, but my most successful to date. It is still getting hits, as are my websites. I was also contacted about some repairs. The intention of the post was to create some work for me at home. So it worked, and had some bonus results as well

You need to find out the method to successful people's madness, and choose the pieces of the puzzle that work for you and your niche. One thing I have been experimenting with is "headline hijacking". I find out what is trending that day (or week etc.) and gear my blogs and posts in that direction, using my keyword research to increase potential traffic. It seems to be working.

Some of my website blogs are opinionated, and are intended to create discussion and responses, whether positive or negative. It is still traffic.
