Tip for Newbies, and non techies like me
This morning I was trying to tweak my sites by including a pop-up email subscription form, in an effort to increase my sign ups. There is lots of research that says that this is one of the best ways to increase your list. Email is one of the better, if not the best ways to keep in touch with your readers.
I decided to go through my spam filter, and found that there was a legitimate comment there.
To check this click on the message box at the top left of the page. The result is that you will go to a screen that shows your comments, in categories, all, approved, etc. On the right side there is one named spam. Most of the time this will contain junk, but In my case there was a comment posted from six weeks ago.
I approved it of course, and apologized for the oversight in my reply. I can't help but think that I have lost a potential sale.
This is like going through your personal junk mail. Spam filters are not fool proof and require some manual oversight.
This will be part of my daily regimen now.
Another lesson learned.
Have a good day.
