STOP! Take A Break And Recharge Your Creative Batteries

When was the last time you took a break from your online activities - that is, a real break? For some of us, our activities online may consume most of our time. We may reason that we have to put in the hours to learn the business environment, set up shop and stay ahead of the competition. Sure, we have to dedicate quality time to our businesses in order to success. However, can we really afford to spend most of our waking hours online to the detriment of other equally important areas of our personal lives? Many will answer a resounding NO!

The sheer volume of information and things to do online is mind-boggling. The prospect of information overload is ever-present. Are you selective about where you access information, which information you consume and what you do online? Some activities are addictive, or so it seems. Phew! Where did the time go? The challenge is to find relevant information, conduct business or play online without losing focus - without overdoing it.

Here at WA, there is a lot of information. For many, including seasoned members, processing all the resources here can be quite overwhelming. Learning new things can seem overwhelming at first - nothing to worry about. If you are new to WA, may I suggest that you focus on the training (Get Started Here and Affiliate Bootcamp) in the order they are presented so that you can chart steady progress towards your objectives.

Resist the temptation to pursue every business idea (even the great money-making ones) that you come across. There are a lot of great ideas here. Trying to pursue too many ideas is simply counter-productive. A laser-focused approach to a manageable number of activities is recommended.

PREPARE A PLAN, SCHEDULE OR PRIORITIZED TO DO LIST ... AND STICK TO IT!

Do you have a plan or schedule that allows you time to absorb the information and time to put what you learn into practice? Time for family, friends, rest and relaxation, exercise and all the other things to be done offline? Preparing a plan and sticking to it should help.

If you are not quite there yet, you have got company. Some of us still wrestle with managing our time spent online. When I am conducting research online, I tend to spend a long time and go in so many directions (following a link here and a link there) that if I am not careful, I totally lose focus. Does that happen to you? It's something I am working on improving and always have to be mindful of.

As an entrepreneur, one of the most appealing features of an online business is that it allows you the flexibility of conducting business whenever and from wherever you choose. I suggest that we should always try to use that to our advantage. This flexibility means that since we decide when and where we work, we should not feel like we are slaves to our computers. Remember you are your own boss here.

Carving out your own niche within this huge internet pie requires smart work, imagination creativity. These are some of the things that set you apart from your competition. You are not at your creative best when you are physically and mentally drained from spending too much time on your computer.
