It's great advice. I always recommend using the minimum number of plugins you can get away with, always ask at least three Members opinions on a new one and take legal advice! WordPress is *opensource*, anyone is free to develop anything for it, and some people deliberately create nefarious themes and plugins. There's also the problems of compatibility and the issue of abandonware, where developers cease updating and developing their offerings. You should always have a backup in place https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-backup-entire-wordpress-blog-have-it-auto-sent-to-a-free-dropbox-account before installing a new theme or plugin and preferably test it on a dummy siterubix site alongside your theme and other plugins first. Caveat Emptor and all that... latin! :) Rich.
Oh i always have backups for at least a year on my local raid drives. Anytime a change is made i note my self to back it up just as i go to bed. I FileZilla at bed time. Lol
Aw, brilliant! I must confess, I like Craig's (@welshy) solution above, as it allows you to schedule automated backups to the cloud. In my case, I get a daily backup of any changes and a full backup weekly sent to my Dropbox account overnight. :) Rich.
I will look at it and see what it will cost me.
It's entirely, free, both the plugin and the Dropbox account. :) R.
