Playing with Woocommerce, I may have a plan but if I may ask how’s this?

So an idea hit me one day, I caught myself saying “I can just open my woocommerce store and run affiliate products off of it and draw everyone’s i.e. visitors to the store via call to action”. I’ve been playing around on Woocommerce for the last 6 hours trying to figure it out. Well, I did for the most part, but the one thing that still perplexes me and that is, once the visitor get to the checkout and fill out their info, what guarantee will it be that they’ll get the item.

I’ve been playing around with the checkout page or so and I don’t feel very confident; plus, I’m afraid to push the button because I don’t know if it’ll come out of my pocket etc. The strange thing is that I’m not sure where I’m messing up. Here’s what I do and in the following order. First, I go to my affiliate account on Ebay and find an gaming item naturally.

Second, I get the link and get it shortened at bitly.com then I go to my product page on Woocommerce where it says “Add New”. Third, I put in the name of the product and get a google image of the game since putting the link on the ‘text’ side does no good as the game image doesn’t show up. Fourth, I save the draft which then I experiment with by going to the “All Products” tab and clicking on it. I see the price I marked down from its original price.

I did just try two things though. When I put ‘simple product’ option, the item shows up in my cart and will guide the visitor to credit card part of the transaction which begs the question; do I actually have to have the actual product instead of guiding the visitor to the product on Ebay?

When I put ‘affiliate product’, the item in question DID NOT show up in my cart nor did the credit card part show up which brings me to my next question, how would I proceed from there given that I have affiliate product in the product data box; do I have to have an affiliate link to link the item to its ‘station’ on Ebay or how would that work?

If you’ve been able to keep up with me so far, congrats but I need some serious answers here! For that matter, where can I get a call to action button as big as life so I link that to my store or however I go about that.

You mean where to look for the call to action button? You might have to purchase some graphics. Check out Button Optimizer on Google. You can get one there. Many use a product store like at Shopify that has ready product templates wouldn't that be easier than what you are doing just link the ebay product into it and bitly will not work at all, not ever. Must have the whole link just like for ClickBank products ?hop.. like that those links are your referral or affiliate link that gets the credit.

Hey Brenda, thanks for chiming in; do I even need one or can I just draw attention with a Call to Action in words alone; what say you?

Many product listing use a button for a call to action or a use a call to action word then link it. Its up to you to decide.

I like the idea of having product ready templates, but do you think woocommerce has any or do you know how I can go about acquiring some because I can't help but think like that would be the easiest route to go.

nice!
