Time for reflection.
Yesterday I drove about three hours out of town for a weekend retreat. Its a pleasant place - elevated with a view over a manicured park and a tidal estuary beyond. Lots of bird life and away from the traffic of the city. A good place to draw breath and reflect on life in general.
September has been a busier than usual month for both our traditional business and fledgling online activity. Having joined WA at the beginning of the month, it has been fascinating to 'meet' the many different people who now form part of my network. They represent all age groups, both genders, major faith groups, highly qualified professionals, young people with hope in their heart and multiple first languages to name just a few differences, but it is what unites us that is special. Underscored by our common humanity, there is a desire to improve out life, a willingness to learn new skills and a generous spirit to help others in need of direction. It is something very special that we belong to here and in a world of ongoing turmoil, unrest and aggression, should be treasured - whether or not we succeed in making money from our efforts.
On that subject, business will always be just that - busy. There are no shortcuts - we need to provide a valuable service, learn the skills of our craft, eventually obtain credibility and have patience while the seed germinates and grows. Eventually the harvest will come and with time, it will be bountiful.
This of course is my first WA blog, but in the last few weeks I have managed to get a landing page for another business and an affiliate site for WA both indexed by Google, so we are up and running, or stumbling at first, with so much to learn.
Wealthy Affiliate really is astonishing in the level of value membership affords. Over the last few years, it has cost me nearly $50 per month for website licensing and hosting services for our traditional business. Then another $250 / month for a cloud software licence which is integral to the service we provide. There are many millions of dollars of investment that have been poured into the WA training program over the years and that together with the ability to host up to 50 websites is provided to us for less than half the price of a daily cup of coffee - not to mention the amazing technical support - a response about 5 minutes after sending out an SOS.
To those like me who are just starting out, my message is simple - do not waste this opportunity. I am now over seventy, so time is limited to make the most of what is available. If you are a bit younger than me, in relative terms, grab this opportunity with both hands - I will say it again - it is something very special.

I am with you, Rod, I wish I had found WA a long time ago but for some reason that was not to be, so I am making the most of what I have now. It surprises me how young ones I have told of this opportunity are just not interested. They really want an easy life I fear.

WA is my safe haven, and I do regret I didn't find WA earlier, I am a bit younger, but not the youngest anymore, with 57 on the counter, I sincerely wish that the youngsters of twenties look into this business and see this fantastic opportunity!

A great message Rod - time goes by so fast. I turned down the opportunity to join Wealthy Affiliate many times in the past, thinking that it was just for complete beginners - what a mistake to make. I'm learning so much, and I've only been here a week!
