Can You Really Build a Plane While Flying It?
This concept has become all the rage at internet marketing and business launch conferences. The audience is quite impressed with the clever wordsmithing and visual, but what does it really mean?
It is intended to say don't let "good" be the enemy of "perfect" and just launch your business for gosh sakes and stop waiting for it to be perfect. So the question is, "Can you build a plane while flying it?" The answer is "Yes" and "No" (a definite NO if you literally trying to fly a plane!)
One aspect that is often left out of this cliche' is the notion of a Minamally Viable Product (MVP) or Concept. Definitely launch your website if you have a sellable product or consulting business that can provide value. Even if it is not perfect there is a lot to be learned with customer feedback, split-testing of prducts and ads, etc... Tweaking the website/business (your plane in this metaphor) completely makes sense.
But be careful about launching concepts just to launch ideas to the general public. It can damage your brand and turn off visitors who may never come back. This is the Beauty of WA and the comments and feedback platform. It is invaluable to determining if your product or service has legs and potential value. I don't believe I have ever seen such an amazing platorm for developing concepts at the creation level. If you are sitting on the fence about going Premium, this is something to consider to stand up and go for it!

Totally agree. Too often we want everything to be perfect and miss all the lessons gained by just getting started 🤗

This is really good advice. I have had some experience in launching a program before it was completely ready. Ultimately it was successful, but it took quite a while to build a following.
