First blog: what have I started?
"..you started something, can't you see
That ever since we met you've had a hold on me"
It's only been a few days but here I am with a niche, a domain name, a website, over 4,000 published words and a big bunch of friendly people. Oh, and my first ever blog post. Not bad, even if I say so myself, considering I've been doing the 'day' job too. Hopefully, one will take over from the other in due course.
2019 has started with an austerity drive for me following a high-spending 2018. Let's see where I am when we tick over into 2020. I've got lots of hope at the moment. I'm sure there will be dull days and setbacks and days when I need a kick up the backside, but the community here will be right behind me, won't you guys?
"Guys"... that reminds me. I'm a Brit, not the only one here I'm sure, but I see a lot of Americans and Canadians. If I use some British English colloquialisms you don't understand just holler and I'll translate. I love travelling and have been lucky enough to tick off a fair few American states - AZ, CA, CT, DE, FL, HI, ME, MD, MA, MI, NV, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VI, WV and AK (yes, AK) plus DC. I'd add IL, MO and NC but changing planes doesn't really count as visiting a state even if you buy the fridge magnet.
Here's hoping that future success can fund future travel and tick off a few more of those states. I haven't forgotten you Canada. I'll be back there too sometime.
OK, next training section to be completed so I'll sign off from my first blog. Comments always welcome.
