Why does South Africans shy away from working online?
In South Africa we are brought up that you need to go to a place of employment a physical address etc.
Can It Change?
Yes with the vast social media platforms available these days it is truly possible to create a stable income or business online.
If you take all the youngsters who is becoming youtubers and game testers and social media marketers these days, things are changing rapidly.
What about us older generation?
We as the older generation must make that mind shift that working online is not for the lazy and degree holders only.
We have the skills and we know what it takes to get to the top. We just need to move out of our comfort zone. I mean if you had said to me a year ago that I will have my own online shop and eventually get involved in affiliate marketing I would have burst out laughing.
What Now
With the rising unemployment we need to start exploring other avenues of employment or business models and the world of online work at home is the way to go.

The old brick and mortar businesses are disappearing fast and if you do not have a skill such as electrician, plumber, or something people will always need, then you better learn how to make money online.
If not, you will be working in the service industry working 9-5 for the next 50 years. Working for others who tell you when, where, and what to do. And how much you will make.
Get online, or get in the unemployment line. It's a new world.
