Tick-Tock… My First Year at Wealthy Affiliate is Nearly Up – AI Changed My Game
(4 Days Less!)

Four more days have passed since my last post, and I'm now just a few steps away from hitting my 1-year anniversary at Wealthy Affiliate. It’s got me thinking again about what really made a difference in my journey.

In that first post, I talked about how valuable it is to create good content and understand SEO. But today, I want to focus on something else that shifted everything for me: getting involved with AI.

About four months into WA, I noticed more and more people in the community talking about AI — especially ChatGPT. I didn’t know what it was or why it was becoming such a hot topic. Other names like Copilot and Jasper came up too, but it all sounded like noise at first.

Then I spoke with my daughter in the USA, who casually said, “We use a version of AI at Uni.”

So, I gave in. I signed up with OpenAI, tried a couple of things, and… got stuck. I didn’t realise there was a second step to actually use the thing. It felt clunky and confusing, so I backed away again.

I believe that even though there is so much to learn when you are green and first start at WA, but looking back, I reckon signing up with AI much earlier may have helped me with that learning and at the very least improved the quality of what I was writing and now looking at rewriting to bring it up to standard.

Eventually, someone pointed me in the right direction. I followed through, upgraded straight away, and haven’t looked back since.

I was nervous at first, mostly due to lack of understanding, but now, I couldn’t imagine a day without it. There’s still a learning curve, but it’s far easier to get started today than it was even a year ago.

Choosing an AI Model: What’s Out There?

Gemini
Fits naturally into the Google ecosystem. That said, many users have become wary after last year’s Google updates. It’s worth noting that Google has seen a 6-7% drop in global traffic - which works out to around 500–600,000,000 (million) fewer searches a day. Bing has seen the biggest gain. 3-4%.

Copilot
Ideal if you’re deeply integrated with Microsoft Office. But keep an eye on this one, changes are coming later this year that may become mandatory, especially if you're buying a new PC. That could affect your experience and your wallet. As Win 11 does not work with most older PC’s.

ChatGPT
In my experience, this is the most flexible and versatile model. I use the paid version, and even though I check results across other tools, ChatGPT remains my go-to. It’s like having a business partner who never sleeps.

Claude
Claude is known for its natural tone and context awareness. Some people prefer it for long-form writing and conversations that feel more human. It’s less flashy but worth a try, especially if you're looking for thoughtful, structured output.

Most of these tools have free versions with limitations, so it’s worth testing them out and seeing what fits your needs. But if you’re doing anything online today and not using AI in some form, it’s like trying to drive a 4 wheel car with just three wheels.

ChatGPT 4.0 completely changed how I think about online business. Just as those big Google updates rolled out and many people saw their sites and income take a hit, I was busy working out a fresh plan, with AI’s help. I’m still working through that strategy, but I’ve already started seeing early success stories.
