Progress Update: Refining, Learning, and Building for Success

Hi WA Friends,

It’s been a productive time, and I just wanted to share a quick update on my progress and recent activities as some of you might be pondering the same things.

Stripping Back the Commercial Aspect

After reflecting on feedback and observing Google’s recent changes, I decided to reduce the commercial feel of my websites. I believe that is the best way to move forward and then concentrate on a more selective traffic intent. The process has begun with updates to the homepage and four other key pages on caststonehq.com. This includes removing excessive affiliate banners and links to create a cleaner, more natural user experience. I’m confident this approach will also make future materials and link pages for my YouTube audience feel less spammy and more integrated and there to be used for any organic traffic too.

New Homepage Photo and Craft Spectrum Focus

I’ve also created a brand-new homepage header photo for caststonehq.com. The image reflects the wide spectrum of crafts I’m aiming to showcase, and I’m pleased with how it’s turning out. It’s exciting to see my vision coming to life visually as well as in content and this also completes the first change of niche and branding!

Building a Photo Library

To further personalize and enhance my sites, I’ve been taking lots of photos of craft materials to start building my own photo library. I have also structured new file folders and albums to make getting to the right photos easier. You don't realise how all of a sudden you find you have thousands of photos to scroll through. I learned a similar lesson many years ago by not starting a mold log for my products until 3 years into the game! So this has been implemented very close to the beginning and will be kept updated. This will not only support my website’s visual appeal but also improve authenticity for both the site and my upcoming YouTube projects.

Engaging with WA Community

I’ve been actively engaging with the WA community, reading posts, answering responses, and learning from everyone’s experiences. I recently posed a question about handling 404 errors and received some fantastic feedback—thank you to everyone who contributed! And I did forward it to Site support who I have just notice have asked for more details.

3D Printer Research

My research into 3D printers continues, and I’ve been exploring options that align with my crafting goals. This is an exciting space with endless possibilities, and I’m looking forward to integrating this technology into my work soon.

Every step feels like progress even though it is a huge U-turn, and I’m thankful for the support from this community. There’s still much to do, but I’m motivated by the progress so far and the possibilities ahead.

Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or any changes you may be making or other tips!

All The Best, the year 2025 is now hours away, and I am intent on getting a flying start.
