First Substantial Win — And It All Started Here at Wealthy Affiliate
Well, some great news today — and I hope it encourages others, especially those just getting started or feeling stuck. Or any of you checking out Wealthy Affiliate and wondering whether it’s worth joining.
Well, it is — and that’s coming from someone who spent a good while thinking the recent changes at Google had ruined everything (especially for small creators like me).
I just closed my first substantial sale from my new local website… and the best part?
It came from an organic Google search — no ads, no push.
The funny part? I had checked Bing and saw no clicks. Then I looked on Google, only to realize that my Google Analytics and Rank Math weren’t even properly connected until today — literally about an hour ago, when (with Mr Chat’s help) I finally got it sorted.
But the client told me directly:
“I found you through your website.”
That moment hit me... because it proved that everything I’ve been learning and putting in the time here at Wealthy Affiliate works.
The SEO strategies, the site-building skills, the patience, the help from the community and it all came together.
For a bit of perspective: I’ve been using a paid lead generation service for the past five years, with a success rate around 30% — but at a considerable cost. That company has hiked its charges and changed the rules many times.
This one organic sale from my site puts me on the right side of the checks and balances — on my own terms. Sure, I’ve invested a lot of time, but that’s a different kind of cost — and one that builds long-term skills.
This wasn’t an affiliate commission; it was a real-world result with real cash flow. And now, it’s giving me the breathing room and confidence to go even further with my affiliate plans.
If you're still sitting on the fence, still building, still learning — keep going. Keep tweaking.

The only thing that is niggling me is when do I start customizing my Facebook and other social media platforms. I want to be confident enough learning this process first. I'm in no rush, I don't want to jump from one to the other all the time.

Wow, congratulations on your success there! Something else you said though really caught my attention. On my third website, my Google Analytics stats through Google Webmaster Tools, went from a healthy clicks and impressions to absolutely nothing and no matter what I do, I can't seem to fix it or change it so I've had to switch to Bing Webmaster Tools which seems to work much better and getting impressions and clicks that way.

And thank you, we all got hit with the Google changes in one way or another, but when traffic does come from Google it has now got a better chance of leading somewhere.
Just pick something that still needs a written search!

That is really good to hear. Congratulations. Happy for you that your work and learning is paying off now.
My site is only 6 weeks old and I haven't really figured out much on the Google Analytics front and don't even know what Rank Math is. I occasionally check Site Kit but at the moment just concentrate on creating content and making sure that all the SEO boxes are green.

Google Analytics can be a little off-putting and it makes you swerve away from it, but it is very useful, especially as time progresses.
Rank Math was recommended to me by another member and it was what finally got me to understand how the SEO part worked, and which things affected it.
I spent hours using it and going back over my prior posts until everyone scored in the 80s or higher. Its free and you don't need the pro version.
