I am trying to add pages in Wordpress and make them sub pages off of links from main pages. When I do it changes the look of my main page and lists all my pages to the left. Fo
Yes, with your earlier suggestion I was able to add it under apparel, but it changes the look of the home page and all of a sudden all the links will show up on the left and my front page slider goes away and is replaced by a background image. This happens whether I make Shoes a sub item or not. By adding just one more page the whole structure will change. I don't think that should be happening. I am using the Liorix One Lite Theme and the sample shows 5 links in the header with the same good looking home page so I know it should work.
OK, playing with the menus I was able to add shoes under apparel, but now when I click on the word shoes it doesn't go to the shoe page. I tried making apparel the parent and I have to choose front page as the template or it changes the whole look of the front page. If I take the template off of frontpage after adding the shoe page it changes my whol main page to something different and shows all my pages listed on the left... not the nice clean looking main page I have now. I just do not know enough about Wordpress to make this happen like I want it. LOL The concept is simple, click on the word shoe, under the word apparel and take me to my shoe page! lol... any help would be greatly appreciated
No I have not tried that. Wordpress is not the easiest thing to wrap your head around but, I am learning. I will try to play around with the menu and see if I can make it work. Thanks you...
You are so right. Wordpress is harder to understand - the older you get. I guess we just explained things (in the old days) differently and have to learn the newer ways. I am 72.
have you tried this...on your dashboard, scroll down to appearance and then go to menus...once in menus, the is a section for menu structure...once here, you can drag and drop your pages where you want them. I hope this helps you

Eureka! I figured out the problem! In my Front Page Displays I had both the front page and posts page set to Home.... duh! I knew it was something simple, just had to find the error. Now it is working perfectly! Thanks for the help!

I just created my web site and it just shows a blank page???
Hi. Are you saying that you created a page, put some content on it, and now it is gone? Did you forget to save it? Maybe I'm not understanding your question. :)
Thank you for responding. I think I figured it out. I believe the theme is broken for some reason. I loaded a new theme and it is working now.
I'm glad you got it figured out. Every once in awhile, someone does seem to come across a broken theme! :)
