Nine Tips to Do Better at YouTube Marketing
YouTube can be a very lucrative way to earn more money, create a fan base, and thrill your audience. The truth is, almost any topic can be covered on YouTube and make money if it’s legal. There are people who make money destroying things, building things, and just telling stories on YouTube. And there's a whole lotta eating going on too. So, how can you optimize your YouTube marketing?
1. Keep Your Videos Short and to the Point – You don’t want to make your videos too long. Now, in some cases, videos need to be long but in others, they don’t. It’s going to be up to you to ensure that you maintain your audience’s interest throughout the video, so keep that in mind as you create it and edit it.
2. Title Your Video Carefully – You’ll want to keep titles short, to the point and accurate. Plus, you’ll want to grab their attention and include relevant keywords. If it’s important to, put the year in the title and hit their heartstrings. Use the right capitalization for titles on your videos.
3. Post as Close to Daily as Possible – On YouTube, the more you post, the better. If you want to build your traffic and subscribers, post daily if possible. Try not to go lower than three times a week. Be consistent with what you choose. But, try to post daily for the first 90 days at least for fast growth.
4. Edit to Take Out Irrelevancy – When you edit your videos, watch them through first and make notes about the parts that don’t drive home the point well. Figure out how you can rearrange the information to make your point clearer. The easier the video is for your audience to watch, the more likely they are to watch it all the way through.
5. Create Effective and Interesting Thumbnails for Your Videos – One way to get people to watch your videos is the cover, which is called a thumbnail on YouTube. Make the thumbnail relevant so that it makes the audience curious enough to watch it. It’s good to develop a template so that you can do this part quickly and effectively.
6. Use Your Description Box Fully – The description box is a great place to add more information that affects your SEO. Search engine optimization is important on YouTube just as it is on your blog. Look over other people’s YouTube channels to find out what they do with their description boxes to make them stand out and make more money.
7. Market Your Video on Social Media – Tell everyone about your videos on all your social media platforms. Each time you publish a new video, share it with social media. If you can afford it, boost your posts with a few dollars to get more eyes on it.
8. Collaborate with Other YouTubers – If you meet other YouTubers who speak to the same audience as you do, think of a way that you can collaborate and make the same type of video and market each other too.
9. Go Live – Once in a while, do a live Q & A as your video. If you do this at a certain time so that it’s planned, market it beforehand, and collect questions prior to the event, you’ll be able to build your audience because they’re going to get to know you better in this way.
YouTube is an excellent place to add content to get more audience members and to make more money. Having new income streams is an important part of doing business today. If you have more than one income stream, you don’t have to worry about if one stream is lagging or even ending, because you can always start another.
