Finishing Course 2 - again
Greetings, All!
I joined WA one year ago and got a slow start, mainly because I was a self-employed home inspector with sporadic work. I'm now a full-time maintenance man at a nearby church because I had too much down time - not good for a man, right?
I'm quite methodical, and I like to do things good and right. I have to be careful not to dwell on the past because I can't change anything. However, I was in a hurry to get my Website up and running, and as it turned out, the niche I had selected ended up not being right for me.
I wish I could remember the WA member's name whose article I read about selecting a niche. It was most helpful. For clarification, I'm not saying Kyle's training isn't helpful, but sometimes I just need to hear something from a different angle.
OK, so I changed my niche but lacked confidence in my writing skills. I went back and forth with the Affiliate Bootcamp but became frustrated with myself. I changed my niche again and started out questioning myself and my writing skills, but when I got to the part in the training (a few days ago) where I posted the link to one of my recent posts and asked for comments (yes, I reciprocated and always will), I was amazed at the responses. It is not my intent to be "proud of myself", but my confidence has increased due to my WA family's response.
Right now I'm having a great time posting comments for others and replying to the comments others have posted on my article. But I have to move on, and will try to post at least one comment a day for someone else. Doing more than that will be hard for me to keep track of everyone, and I don't want to receive a comment and forget to pay back.
So I'm going to post this, then move on to Certification Course 3. My niche is safety products for the home. My daughter is also a WA member. She got me started and she's a great coach and encourager.
In my current job I committed to work until at least December 1, 2018. I'm not going to wish my life away, but I am looking forward to this date so I can quit work if I want and work full time at home writing articles. I know the purpose of my Website is to make money, but for whatever reason that is not as high on my list as helping people stay safe in their homes.
So by December 2018, I hope to have posted another, oh, 20 articles and have seen at least some income. I know it all takes time. I also would like to start another Website down the road, the niche starting with men's neck ties, then expanding to men's attire and accessories.
One other thing I have to remember is to check for new followers so I can also follow them. I've looked at the Live Chat but I have yet to be able to answer any questions because I don't know the answers. Sorry, folks. Maybe I'll get there soon.
Meanwhile, thanks to all WA members for helping and encouraging. I know we can't help everyone directly but we do help each other indirectly when we help even one person and that person helps others.
Well, signing off for now.
Best Regards,
Rick

Hey Rick, this is Rick.
One of the places I meet a lot of people is in the "Need Website Comments."
It's here that I meet a lot of members as I am placing comments on their posts and in turn they do on mine.
My activity level is pretty high here because every time I create a post I'm interacting with members about mine and there's.
Rick
Rick,
For clarification, is this where we comment on each others' posts, not their Website itself?
I tried commenting on some Websites but I'm not very creative and I don't wish to be negative, so I've stayed away from that.
Rick
The "Need Website Comments" section is really just for you to add a quick comment in their post. This would be a positive comment that many other people will see on their website. As I understand it, Google looks favorably on sites that have a lot of engagement. To me, this is a quicker comment where you may not read the entire post thoroughly.
"Site Comments" under Rubix, is a different story, and is where you would read the post "thoroughly" and then place a more indepth "positive" comment.
I use both of these and it seems like Kyle wants to move us to more quality engagement on peoples posts where you do have to read more thoroughly, in the Site Comments" section.
I hope this helps and I hope I understand it correctly also.

I commend you, Rick for taking the time to go through the courses again; Kyle has updated a lot of the lessons, so you're bound to learn something new.
I agree with what you said about being able to learn something from a different angle. I remember being stuck on having a deeper understanding of how to use keywords, I can't even remember how many times I went through that particular lesson. But it was Bommergp08's training that really cleared those cobwebs for me; so I gladly share it whenever someone gets stuck on keywords.
In terms of using Site Rubix for getting comments: it's an incredible tool, but it can take up a lot of time considering you have to give 2 to get one. Here's a thread that Kyle created where you can give and receive comments, without the 2:1 ratio to worry about. Basically, you leave a comment on someone's post, they leave one on yours. Easy breezy. Here's the link: Need website comments? the give and take comment thread I've been using this a lot more now and I love it!
All the best to you, Rick!
Thanks, Veronica, for taking time to reply. I have now bookmarked the website comments page.
Best Regards,
Rick
Veronica,
I just caught on to what you said about the website comments link. I don't need to bookmark it since the link is there under the Site Rubix link.
Thanks again.
No, these are 2 different links, Rick.
With Site Rubix, you have to give 2 comments to receive one, with the thread Kyle provides, it's a 1:1 ratio, so you can leave as many comments as you like.
