Don't give up before you succeed!
I have been rather consistent over the past 25 years in that I have always given up on whatever I am doing when things don't go the way I think they should. This is not only very frustrating, but very distracting as well. I have always been one of those people who wanted everything without having to do anything to earn it. In other words, I was a FLAKER.
After so many failures, I think it has finally sunk into my brain that good things don't always happen overnight and that to achieve success, a lot of pain and effort needs to take place, as well. Have you ever found yourself in such a predicament?
My wife has always asked me why I am so hard-headed when it comes to accepting the fact that it takes time for something to work. Unfortunately, I get so anxiuos to succon't geed that I simply don't give whatever it is I am doing at the time an opportunity to work. I refused to accept the premises that success may take 6 months, a year, or maybe even longer. I didn't want to wait that long. I wanted success NOW!!!
I am writing this now to try to impress upon any who is willing to read this that my outlook on success is totally wrong and that hard word, patience and perserverence it required if you really want to succeed. Don't EVER give up on persuing your dream(s). If you stick it out for the long run, you will find that blinding light at the end of the tunnel.
I would like to hear from others who have suffered similar fates. I also would like to hear if you agree, or disagree, with my logic.

I on the other hand used to get scared trying new things. I think it's the same science with wanting success to come quickly. I have now learned I will not accomplish anything if I don't try and make it work. Stick with it and don't give up. Best of luck to you.
Right on! If you want something bad enough, you will succeed at it if you are patient and are persistent. I wish you much success in 2014. Don't be afraid of getting your feet wet. Just jump in and start swimming. I'm confident you will find the waters rather appealing.
Hi Rich. Great words of encouragement. Success is like a tree- you plant a seed, water it, and wait for it to grow. Then you fertilize the sprout, make sure it gets the right amount of sun, air, etc. and wait for it to grow.

I totally agree. My biggest achievements in life have been the ones that took the most effort and determination. Success is achieved by pushing through the dip and focusing on the end goal. However I think it is important to take pleasure in the journey.
Quitting shouldn't always be viewed as a bad thing. Quitting one thing can allow you to focus on another, which may lead to success. And if you feel that you are on the path to success then all the things that you have quit in the past can only be a good thing
I totally agree with your comment that failure sometimes opens other doors leading to success. And yes, it is necessary to enjoy what you are doing. This not only makes life and your efforts more fun, but I have found it also provides encouragement to others when they see you really enjoy what you are doing. Thank you so much for your support. Good things come to those who wait! We all know this does not mean that we are to sit around waiting for opportunities, money, success, or even those unwanted pounds, to knock on the door or just fall off. We must work diligently to achieve all of these things and accept the fact that we may fail once or twice before we succeed. While we wait, we must continue to do our very best to make our dreams become a reality! We have to wait patiently, while we work, so that we won't miss what is coming.
