My WA Experience Thus Far

Hello All,

According to my notes, I joined WA on 01/13/2018. I was looking at joining another group that turned out to be a scam. I am SO delighted to be part of this community. As Alex Evans, an Ambassador at WA so eloquently said in his Bio, "Some times on your travels through life you find a place that just feels right". Word up Alex! I feel the same way.

The training is brilliant. It breaks things down in small bites. There is a sense of accomplishment when checking the box and moving on. I love the level of Kyle's participation on the site everyday.

As I reflect, since starting there are a lot of things I have completed. This includes building a website, creating content, and interacting with others along the way. One weakness I have is being a perfectionist. In this training, we are sending out links of our websites that are half complete and asking for feedback. So the training is getting me past being that "perfectionist". That is a good thing. I am sure this is an ever evolving thing in terms of website look, feel, and content?

I am also learning that being a perfectionist can also be a form of holding oneself back from full potential? I believe anyone's biggest deterrent is themselves. So this training is just what the doctor ordered, I am learning to get past myself. :)

This whole concept of being online fits my personality. It calls for being steady, consistent and at times demonstrating grit? From what I am reading, it is slow in the beginning but can soon be very exciting with diligence.

My goals are to be a sponge and NEVER give up. I love learning. I was telling my wife yesterday it has already changed the way I see the world. Last night we were at a restaurant and a woman was at the bar with her laptop open. I thought she must be writing a blog? :)

I think everyday about all of the things I have to be grateful for. The community here is at the top of that list. Thank you all.

Sincerely,

Rich M

The more you can let go of being a perfectionist the better Richard. It's something I am still constantly aware of. Heck, when I was much younger, I even listed it as quality on my resume, until I learned it was far more a disadvantage. :) ~Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the note! I completely agree. It holds a person back.

Thanks,
Rich

Hi, Rich so good to hear that your WA experience is going well, the community can be a real motivating factor for sure.
There is always something new to learn and one of the best teachers can be just doing it, taking action, putting content out there even if it isn't quite there yet.
Looking forward to seeing you making progress and reading about your successes.

Thank you Alex!

Welcome!!

Thank you Mat!
