Nothing But Issues With Creating An Ads.txt

This is a blog about setting up Google Adsense and my ads.txt. For some reason, I keep running into issues setting up an ads.txt. It all started when I tried to use plugin to set this up. Everytime I tried creating the ads.txt, it would not be accessible via domain/ads/txt. I decided that I should try to upload the file myself via the WordPress File Manager plugin.

This failed as well as for some reason, I cannot upload any files to the root directory. It seems like something is blocking me from doing anything outside of viewing files in the root directory. This is more than likely why no matter what ads.txt plugin I use, they just don't create the file.

Well I though I'd contact site support on the issue. They went ahead and created the file. This however isn't working as every time I try to pull it up, my browser downloads a file with the .gz extension. That obviously shouldn't be happening. Google Adsense will never find that acceptable. I contacted site support again and they tried to access it from their end. They sent me a screenshot of the file coming up from their end. They told me to clear my browser's cache which I tried that. I also tried Microsoft Edge which does the same thing and I've never tried to pull it up before with Edge. So no cache was ever stored. I decided to put it off as being something with my network.

After waiting an entire week and a half, Google Adsense is still giving me warnings and my earnings have been halted. This was a bummer as my organic traffic has been paying off for awhile. Google however halted them as they have not went up for awhile. This is all despite the fact that my organic traffic shot up to over 30% last night. Again, I am really anxious to fix this but without root file permissions to my own site, I cannot do anything about it but watch the potential earnings slip away. If anyone wants to take a stab at it and try to pull up my ads.txt, my domain is http://highfidelitysoundhaven.com. Hopefully it isn't on my end as I'm trying to find a way to get support for Adsense but from what I see, they do not offer any. So Basically, I'm on my own. This is sad but I'm sure that there are better ad networks out there. If you know of any ad networks I should try, please let me know as I just need something that works cleanly and allows me to monetize my traffic without the struggles. If you read this far, thanks for listening to me vent this out but it seems like I just can't get Adsense to work for me.

I have the same problem. Site Support has fixed the problem several times yet I keep getting the warning. Frustrated and about to give up on AdSense. Did you solve this problem?

Try contacting site support. They have to add the ads.txt directly to your WordPress. It's how we've done it.

I already did that. They said it's there but for some reason, it doesn't load properly on my end and Google Adsense cannot access it.

have you tried ad inserter plugin ?
it has an area for ads.txt
good luck
