Facebook gave me a $5 credit on a post boost.

I logged into Facebook to find an interesting notification from my Facebook page. I thought it was just another annoying pop up about boosting one of my posts. No, it was actually a $5 credit that I could use to boost my posts. I was literally in shock. I thought that Facebook was going to force me to spend more than the $5 credit in order to use it. To much of my surprise, I didn't actually have to spend ANY money except for the credit. I went ahead and boosted one of my posts for 5 days completely on Facebook. I've been watching my real time Google analytics spike as people read the blog post I promoted. I can't believe that I got this credit.

I'm not sure where this will take my website. All i know is that Facebook is advertising my post for 5 days straight completely on them. Wish me luck for the next five days. I recommend reading your notifications from your Facebook pages thoroughly as you might just get this free credit. I'm hoping that this will help my site grow although it might just bring traffic temporarily. I hope that others have also ended up with this credit. I can say that it will expose my content. I'm happy it happened.

1/14/2020 Update:

This actaully did increase my traffic although not by too much. It really isn't that bad for free advertising. I had no idead that Facebook was going to do this. I will update this post if I notice anything significant happen. If not, I'll update it at the end of the post boost.
