Be Careful - Check Your eBay Links.
I'm writing this sure post to warn fellow bloggers about something I had discovered with eBay's affiliate program.
So, what happened to me was this. An article I had written almost three years ago contained a link to a product related to the product I was writing about. This was simply an item that would upgrade the performance of said product.
Due to me not mentioning specifically that the link leads to the product on eBay, that goes against their policy.
So, what I want everyone to do is this. If you have eBay links within your site, ensure you specifically mention to your readers that the link will lead them to eBay.
Do not make the same mistake I did. I had also missed their email somehow about the issue thus missed the date they wanted the problem to be resolved by. So, now I'm without eBay which, for my niche, is almost a required affiliate.
I hope this information is useful. Good luck everyone!

A good warning, and could be expanded for those who have a large blog or multiple blogs. It would be wise to revisit periodically posts with links to ensure the product information is correct, the link works fine etc.
There are often so many changes that it is to be expected something will change. I've even read folks on other blog forums talking of researching other blogs on similar niche looking for dead links (links to websites no longer running) to pitch replacing the link with their own.
Sorry to hear this was a major setback for you. You might consider incorporating and reapplying under the new corporation for the Ebay affiliate program. Many have done that in self publishing when caught up in bans at Amazon or Nook.
I just fixed the link and they unsuspended my account. Definitely a smart idea to expand this to other affiliate accounts.
Awesome it was such an easy fix.
