Personal Observation
I had read a long time ago that one of the reasons that so called guru's do not reveal their niches is that someone is bound to muscle in. Or if they had a method that was working like gangbusters they only revealed that when it was pretty much tapped out.
I think there is a nugget of truth to that. I won't be bitter about it, but there have been recent evidence to suggest this is true due to something happening to me. So it is thru personal experience that we determine the validity of things.
Still interesting development given that the information was only shared here. Meh, it was a test anyway. Lesson learned.

Business people, running bricks & mortar businesses, rarely reveal their secrets, contacts, details of deals, clients etc. The same applies for people running websites. Can't really expect them to reveal everything. Most experienced webmasters aren't going to list all their niche sites on WA. The best sites will usually remain secret. For the reasons you give.
Also not all sites succeed. A 'guru' may succeed with one site but fail with the next. If their acolytes see them fail, that might tarnish their image. ( The honest 'gurus' will use their failures as well as successes as examples of how you can learn from them. )

Correct. I completely agree about that. If only people knew how to think about others before hastily acting according to their wishes. https://basketballlegends.pro
