14 Days In

It's day 14 and I'm working on closing out my level 2 training. I have a website. It's up, it has 11 articles published, although I'll admit several are scant right now; they are basically book marking for me.

Learning the in, outs, and (what seem to me to be) the quirks of Word press is definitely challenging. Lots of details to remember. I have a trail of some 45 pages of training notes documenting all of the various setting relating to managing my developing content, changing how my web site looks, and keeping track of all of the "tech tips" I've been getting for various sources. I have tested Tech Support several times and they have come through for me every time so far. I have felt that I've capsized on more than one occasion, but Tech Support have responded and either corrected something for me or guided me to make the correction myself. I guess one might call it teething, and that has involved at least one, "duh" moment when the answer was right in front of me, but I just hadn't noticed. I've also had some helpful feedback which I very much appreciated.

Having chosen "Safety In The Home" as my first niche, the one that I'm practicing how to build/create a website with, I'm being challenged in a positive way to transfer from my head everything that I know about hazards, incidents, injuries and consequences of having an unsafe home. It's great being able to pull on one's own experience even though that may not be apparent to the reader. Almost every sentence and paragraph I write prompts me to go fact checking and get corroboration for what I have written.

It's great being tracked and being able to see where you are relative to the goals that are set for each aspect of the training, which I prefer to call education and training, which when spelled with capital letters for the first letter of each word spells EAT, and, yes, I am eating it up.

If step #1 was to learn enough about WordPress and create a working website, I feel that I'm getting there and producing more pages and more blog to increase my content, and especiall more images, seems to be the path I'm now focused on. Step #2 I am hoping will be really learning about, and understanding, how all this academic activity (academic as in education) is going to turn the corner and bear fruit by actually becoming a revenue producing activity; because I would hate to find that all of this effort is of no practical relevance and of only theoretical interest (second dictionary definition).

Jumping into this and choosing the affiliate marketing path was without question a step pf faith and I feel confident that somewhere between 3 months from now and six months, this will show positive revenue that will start helping me to pay my montly bills.

So that where I am right now, and my web site can be viewed at www.Safety-At-Home.org.

That's great progress in just a couple of weeks. Something to think about........ your scant bookmarked pages may not be looked at favourably (UK spelling) by google. When they crawl your page they would view it as bad content. It may be better to leave them in page builder until ready to publish. Just my opinion and more than happy to be corrected as that way I learn something too...

Best wishes going forward.

Regards, Graham.

p.s. I welcome feedback on grammar and spelling, aka typos, since American English is my second language.

Well done, Ron!
