Hey Res,
I kind of have the same dilemma. I am not completely understanding the Street Articles angle. I have an article on Street Articles, but what I did was post it on my website first. I updated my site map and re-pinged Google, as well as posting on my Facebook page, Tumblr, put in on my Google+ page and tweeted the article link.
After all that, establishing that I wrote the article, then I posted it on Street Articles. I have had 29 people visit the Street Articles version and 4 click through. I suspect most of those that visited Street Articles were from WA after I put up a post that I had posted to Street Articles. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/usvet/blog/first-post-on-street-articles
Since I posted the article on my website and shared it via the sources above, I have had 10 people click through from those sources. I am guessing that traffic is more valuable.
Until I hear otherwise that is wrong, that is how I rolling.
Later,
Tom
Hey Darrell,
Article directories, including Street Articles, used to have much more pull with respect to ranking in Google. Google's algorithms have changed in such a way as they almost require unique content. I think there is still use for article directories but they should not be the main focus of your content strategy. You should look at them more as a sort of introduction about your website to readers of those directories.
Personally, I think people concentrate way too much on what search engines want and way too little on what readers what. If you can seek out what the masses want and if you are able to provide a solution, my belief is you'll never have to worry about what search engines think again. Good content has always survived any Google algorithmic changes and for obvious reasons. if people like what you write, Google is going to like your site and not the other way around.
Best Regards,
Jim
Thanks for the response Jim. I've only recently written my first two street articles, before that all of my other writings have been directly to my website, with no thoughts to rankings...I was just writing unique content based on how I felt.
I feel that even in sharing my writings via social media, I should just share direct links to my site, rather than to Street Articles. Like you said, the SA's I write will serve as an intro to my writing style, and if readers like what they find, there's always more to be had on my site.

You only need to write two articles for Street Articles (which I think you have done) and then you should be concentrating on writing content for your site.
Yes, I've written two. Thanks Beverley, I do still have a lot more content I want to focus into my site.
