The frustrations of getting a Facebook WA ad approved

Whilst no one would argue that Facebook needs to monitor what they allow on their site in terms of grooming, violent content and the myriad of other anti social social media stuff we are bombarded with they appear to go from the sublime to the ridiculous when it comes to advertising.

How many others have the problem of, after designing, hopefully, a very clever advert promoting WA, you get the dreaded message saying your advert has not been been approved.

They don't tell you immediately why it has not been approved, but after the third time you have a pretty good idea what the answer is going to be.

Your advert will get disallowed because they do not allow Multi level marketing schemes, get-rich-quick promotions or make money from home.

There has to be an algorithm that picks up on your wording which in all cases promoting WA will contain words like (not) MLM (not) get-rich-quick but will, if you don't want to miss an opportunity, mention work from home.

Now this is confusing as they tell you they do not promote work from home schemes but the "Work from Home" option is part of their demographics.

The solution is simple though frustrating in the need for it.

Just contest it.

Tell them what your advert is actually promoting, mentioning WA does help, and sure enough you get a message back saying "Congratulations your Ad has been approved"

Be warned. if you tweak the ad you will probably have to go through the process all over again.
