Finding a UNIQUE profitable nich
Profitable and unique need not be co-dependant.
Forget the profitable part for the moment, to be honest it is not part of this post because there really should be no such thing as an unprofitable niche, if the niche you have chosen turns out to be unprofitable you would or should dump it. Understanding of course that it may still be profitable to someone else in different circumstances.
It is the question of being unique
As an affiliate marketer trying to promote Wealthy Affiliate to people who want to build a business selling affiliate products how many times do you get asked "why should they buy from me when they can go straight to the original supplier?"
If you can successfully answer the "why" part of that statement you would be making a living in a more professional occupation, however they do buy from you!
Ask yourself....
- Why people go to a filling station for fuel knowing full well that they can get it cheaper elsewhere?
- Why would you shop at a supermarket knowing what you are buying is advertised by another supermarket as being cheaper?
- Why do convenience stores even exist?
- Why do so many people ignore comparison sites and energy switching sites?
The examples are endless!
It does not matter why!
The corner convenience shop should not work, but it does, mainly because it is convenient!
And that there may be the answer why many (not all of course) people will buy from you instead of going to try and find the product on distributors sites. Its convenient.
But that is not only why they will buy from you at a higher price than they can get with a little research.
Luckily for many affiliate marketers the distributor sites are not welcoming and the descriptions of the products are, more often than not. enough to have most buyers pushing the "back" button with some vigor.
For me then the answer (which lies in the training at Wealthy Affiliate) is in proper product reviews and descriptions.
That is what will make your product unique
Now add convenience to the mix and you should be able to scratch any worry about no one buying from you, because they can buy cheaper else where, from the list of things to worry about and just enjoy the marketing experience!

Food for thought Dave, we are in the right place for sure to learn the skills and one of the really cool things is that everyone searches for reviews prior to making that purchase.
The easier we can make that process, the better we can do in the selling stakes.
How is the journey going the second time around?
Certainly a lot better than the first time.. I find the training makes more sense the second time once you have a better understanding of what marketing and websites are all about.
Too true, best wishes.
