Before i get to the sad part let me say Happy Easter weekend! I hope everyone is having a great start to their day, Today it's a slow and somber day for me,

I have written one post about my dog and sadly this post is not going to be a good one.

Gracie Lou Passed away around two pm yesterday, I was there petting her and telling her how much she will be missed but as a Christian I can't wait to see her when I get to heaven.

And this happens two weeks before five year since my grandpa passed away as well. But don't worry, My dog didn't go down without fighting everyday to stay with us just a bit longer, as I type this i am sitting by where she passed and I just feel sadness even on Easter Sunday I might be sad still.

Anyway, that's all for this time, I have been busy so i am barely on here now, have a great day and please hug your pet a bit longer today.

I will miss you My sweet girl, Rest easy.

I have had dogs all my life. I'm 71 now so I have had a lot of them. It's always so hard when we lose them. For us, we lost our Danny in 2020 and it was devastating. A sermon from the late Dr. Charles Stanley on dealing with grief really helped. Even now when I think about Danny I start to tear up. I have come to think that they are with us for such a short time to teach us to love unconditionally...while you can. Like you, I know we all meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Now im crying thank you so much for your words, I miss my dog every day and most days I'm ok some days I just wish my dog was with me, sorry for your dog passing too it's awful; yes I look forward to seeing our pets in heaven one day.

Oh, it's so hard to lose a pet...they are a valued family member. I feel for you, and wish it were possible to bring her back. However, she is pain-free and waiting for you. One day you will be together again.

Remember all the happy times...she would want you to.

Thank you, dear friend.

I am healing a bit every day. I do think back to the good times with her, and that makes me happy.

Yes, I truly believe she isn't in pain anymore. now which makes me happy :)

Hi Rebekah, I am so sorry to hear that. Pets are a blessing to us because of there unconditional love that they give us. I too lost my cat of 15 years old but she led a wonderful life and I enjoyed her while she was with me.

You are so right we will see our furbabies when we get to heaven. You also have to remember that Gracie Lou is no longer in pain, she is at peace and playing in heaven.

Think about all the good times you had with her. Please don't feel sad I know that is hard but we have to try though.

Mary

Thank you, dear friend. I love thinking that my Gracie Lou is healthy and playing on the rainbow bridge 🥹

I know she is having a blast. I can't wait to see her when we all get there.

Hello there Rebekah,
I am comforted that you were there with her in her last days.

Celebrate the life and time that you had with her this Easter Sunday when we celebrate new beginnings

Be of good cheer

Hello, thank you for your kind words. Happy Easter!

So sorry to hear about your loss Rebekah....

Stay strong my friend... :-)

I'm trying too, thanks my friend hope you have a great Easter!

I hope you did as well my friend...:-)

I did, :)

Great! ;-)

Most of us here know the pain of having to say good-bye to our furry family members. I've gone through it three times myself. But someone said something that helped me.

If you are truly sad when something ends, it's because it was so wonderful and special while it was happening.

That's how your life was with Gracie Lou, wonderful, special, full of snuggles and giggles. Remember those times now. In fact, write them down. Then when you re-read them, it will be like she's sitting beside you once again.

🥺 thank you, I'll do that, but i am just so torn that I can't even write much about her, I just wish she held on longer with me.

I have no doubt she held on to be with you until the last possible moment, but then it was just too much for her little body. Her heart will always be with you.

Yes, I believe she did do that. I had her buddies outside, and then I came back in, and she kind of looked at me and laid her head down, and my mom said to be with her. I didn't deal with death as well when I was 18, But I did stay with her because if I didn't, then I would have to live about with that for the rest of my life.

That's very true, and she was looking for you. She would have been so sad if you hadn't been there to comfort her as she left for her final journey. You can always hold that special moment in your heart, knowing that you were her loving support to the end. That's very special.

🥺 that thought is making me tear up again...thank you for your words.

I am sorry to hear about Gracie. It was wonderful that you could comfort her at the end. We had a dog, Yukon, who passed at 20 years old with my wife holding her. Have a bless Easter.
Jim
