Chase Your Dreams Like Your Life Depends on It — Because It Does
We all have dreams.
“If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney
Some are loud, screaming at us every day to take action. Others are quiet, buried under years of doubt, responsibilities, and fear. But your dreams are valid, whether big or small, old or new. And more importantly, they’re yours. That alone makes them worth chasing.
The Cost of Not Trying
Too many people live their lives on autopilot. They wake up, go to work, scroll through their phones, and repeat. There’s a quiet ache, knowing they were made for more. But instead of chasing that “more,” they settle. Not because they’re lazy. Not because they’re incapable. But because they’re afraid.
Afraid of failing.
Afraid of looking foolish.
Afraid that they’re not good enough.
But here’s the truth: The biggest risk isn’t failing. The most considerable risk is regret. Looking back in ten or twenty years and realizing you never even tried.
Start Where You Are
You don’t need permission. You don’t need a perfect plan.
What you need to do is stop waiting in life! And start living your life to the fullest!
Start writing the book.
Start the Etsy shop.
Take the acting class.
Go back to school.
Apply for the job.
Move to the city.
Start scared. Start small. Start messy. Just start.
Will I be scared going to a new city on my own? Yes. Will I have fun while I'm there? Yup! Will I feel happy when I come back to my family? Yes! See, that's the thing, you have to step into the unknown to enjoy life sometimes.
Every small action builds momentum. You don’t have to leap — sometimes you need a step.
Book that flight (I did to go to Chicago again to meet two of my favorite actors!)

Progress doesn’t come from confidence. Confidence comes from progress. The more steps you take, the more your belief grows. And one day, what once felt impossible will become your new regular.
You Owe It to Yourself
You owe it to the little version of you who used to dream freely. To the current version of you who craves more. And to the future version of you who will thank you for not giving up when it was hard.
Your dream is your responsibility — no one else will chase it for you. But that’s the beauty of it. You have the power. You get to write the story. And it’s never too late to pick up the pen.
Keep Going — Even When It’s Hard
No one talks about the lonely nights. The doubts. The people who don’t believe in you. The voice in your head that tells you to give up.
But here's the secret: every dreamer has felt that.
What's the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t? The ones who succeed kept going.
They showed up when no one clapped.
They worked when no one believed in them.
They believed in something bigger than themselves.
Final Words
Chasing your dreams doesn’t guarantee ease, comfort, or immediate success. But it does guarantee growth. It ensures a life of meaning, passion, and purpose.
So stop waiting for permission. Stop waiting for perfection. Stop waiting for “someday.”
Start now. Start scared. Start anyway.
Because your dreams are worth it — and so are you.
So what dreams are you chasing? I'd love to talk about them with you in the comments below.

Excellent post Rebekah!
We need to be reminded regularly of this power that we all have.

I agree wholeheartedly, If you don't have a dream/goal, then you are just spinning your wheels and not accomplishing anything in life. Life is SHORT, TOO SHORT, do not have regrets, If you have a vision or something you want to do, but have been putting it off, do it!
I have always set goals, and will not quit til I complete them. My goal about 40 years ago was to retire with no worries about money.(Accomplished!) I have a 5 year goal here at WA to add a minimum $1000 a month to my income, and will work daily to get there. No if and or buts..
