What is your true motivation?
I once went and worked a job at a calling center and they sent me straight to some training. The instructor asked us, what is your motivation for coming to work, what is it you get up in the mornings for? I thought that was a great question because I don’t think everyone looks at why they do get up and go to work.
Obviously this is going to be a bit of a different flavor for each person, some the same but it will vary. Your common answer I am sure is to make the necessary money to pay the bills and that is partially true but there is usually more to it than that.
For me, I am a single full time dad and my truest motivation to getting up in the morning and making money in some way or another is my daughter, everything I do is for her. It is just a fact of life to have to pay bills and taxes but that is a must, not a motivation. For some, not living on the streets could be a good motivation.
If you think back when you were a kid, you had all these awesome ideas and dreams. For some of us we knew it took money to make ideas and dreams a reality so you start counting how many lawns you can mow or how much babysitting you can do down to all the chores your parents wanted done just to earn the money to buy a toy, trainset, a doll, motorcycle or car.
Nothing should really change, we should all keep that kid in us and keep those ideas and dreams alive. In Internet Marketing, you are always seeing hype for owning a mansion or a yacht or taking trips around the world. Yes these can be incentives but I think many people getting into this are looking to better their lives in more of a realistic way. Like anything, you work at something long and hard enough and the bigger stuff comes later.
When it comes to internet marketing, it isn’t always money that is their reason. Many people want to know that they created something that might help others, for some just being able to be creative and show it off on the web is awesome. Some may want to become an expert and guru at something.
I have found from my own experience if you try to do something without the right motivation, it never turns out well in the end. But when you go at something understanding what is truly motivating you, you have a much better chance of success and enjoy the task far better. No one likes to do things they have no interest in or care about but when you can set your true goal, the task seem less of a strain.
Think about when you were first started dating, when it came to cleaning up the car or cleaning your house or apartment before you picked up your girl in your car or had your guy come over. Doing all that cleaning seemed quick and effortless but on a normal day when it came time for cleaning anything, it was a dreaded task that you didn’t feel like doing.
So, is it all about money or is it something else that really motivates and inspires you? Money is a necessity, we have to have it but is it what you can do with it or the freedom it gives you. For me, a load of money means more time I can spend with my child, more time I can do the things I like to do that allows me to be more myself.
So at anything you are going to do in life, think about what your true motivation is and let that inspire you and keep you focused on where you want to be.

My motivation is to get booked to speak to teachers and youth and others wherever I can. I would love to be paid for those bookings, but the opportunity to speak and motivate and inspire groups of people.
At this point, as i try to develop and use the tools available here, I have not seen any progress. I am making a ton more progress talking to people personally.
However, I want the websites so that when I do get the processes together, I will connect with people and be of service to some.
Good post. My true motivation is not having to work for someone other than myself ever again.
I enjoyed your post, and I am following you.
