I pray that 2022 finds all of you and your loved ones in fabulous circumstance. There is much

for us to be grateful for as we start this new year.

The events of 2021 has probably left a bad taste in many mouths; however, there has also been some joyous occasions too.

For me, my best thing was finding my way to WA. I have found a home that will always be here for me, as long as I am here for myself.

The reality is that I am appreciative for both the joy and bad taste. Without bad/hard times, we would not be able to appreciate the good that comes our way.

Odd, but true!

What Do We Glean from Bad Times?

“Bad things happen to good people”, unknown author. Most bad times can become teachable moments.

We commonly hear people say that everything happens for a reason. Which often requires dissecting the situation to decipher the message.

It is up to us to foster an environment conducive to our success. Success is strung together through a series of failures, re-education, and prayer to understand the correct path.

How can a bad time (situation) teach me anything?

Simply put, I failed for a reason. My plan was not thought out; my execution was wrong; or I was not committed enough to win.

Truly, there are a thousand and one things to learn from a bad time. Hell, my delivery could have been exceptional, but I focused on the wrong audience.

It is just that easy to fail. If it is taken for granted, that would leave room for some serious questions about my research.

Three questions that I ask myself:

    1. Did you break down why something did not work for you?
    2. Did you correct the issue or did you move on?
    3. If you moved on, what are you going to do about it?

Generally, my answers are generic and evasive. Frustrated, disappointed, and ashamed is how I cope, in that order too.

I am truly my own worst critic when it comes to negative outcomes. Do not get me wrong, I will also break my elbow eating myself on the back for good outcomes.

A win is not a win, if you do not learn anything from it. Yes, I said what I said.

If you do not learn anything, how will you ever repeat the success? Make sense now, huh?

How Do I Learn From My Mistakes?

Learning from mistakes can be a complicated mission. If you are like me, I am generally the

last culprit identified.

Someone once said, ‘fail faster’. “What does that even mean?”

Brazenly, look inward first. Look at your actions and execution to find missteps on your part.

As content creators, webmasters, SEO pros, social media gurus, and many more titles, we are logically the first to analyze.

Map out the steps taken, identify options, and rework the plan. Note that if the end result is always the same, the problem may be the plan.

Do not take a month to make a decision because time is not your friend when failure is on the horizon.

There is nothing wrong with pointing your finger at yourself. Remember, you are always the weakest link in your plan.

Always remain fluid in your endeavors to ensure that you can rapidly facilitate change in a volatile situation.

My Plan Is Great, But My Delivery Sucks!

You can turn a sorry plan into a success with the proper delivery; however, a great plan cannot survive if the delivery sucks.

Realizing the the delivery is the problem can mean several things. Here are but a few:

    • Failed to take advantage of the WA training
    • Failed to establish relevance between content and niche
    • Lack of empathy towards the audience
    • Not getting to know the audience

Taking advantage of the WA training and classes is the reinforcement needed to overcome most obstacles.

Taking shortcuts can lead to unnecessary setbacks that can lead to failure.

In addition, picking and choosing pieces of the training while ignoring others is a failure waiting to happen.

The relevance of the content to the niche/audience has important value to your cause.

For example, writing about the influence of today’s technology has no bearing on an audience interested in health and beauty aids.

Yeah, I reached deep for that one. Hopefully you get the point I am trying to make here.

It is easy to go astray when writing; therefore, you must be clear and concise with your message.

Otherwise, you alienate the audience or perhaps loose them altogether.

This takes us to the next problem, lack of empathy. We tend to avoid putting ourselves in the shoes of others.

We think our shoes are foul enough, right? Wrong. We must be able to reach down to an audience’s level in order to bring them up to ours.

Without understanding where they are coming from or what they are feeling, we stand a chance of being ousted from our perch.

This is also a part of getting to know your audience. You want them present for you; therefore you must be present for them too.

It works both ways!

Failure To Frequently Assess Our Plans, Production, and Policy Is Detrimental

Failing to frequently assess our plans are simply putting nails in our coffin, so to speak.

Every hiccup in our plan has to be addressed when it occurs.

Although it may not cause the walls to come tumbling down today, it could present a problem later on down the road.

Seldom is it wise to let mistakes lie. Any damage discovered later could prove detrimental to the cause.

We are not talking about a typo or grammatically incorrect sentence here. For example, say you use a ghost writer to draft your content.

It is your responsibility to ensure the content is consistent with your message, values, and beliefs.

You cannot wait 5 articles later to say ‘Whoa Nelly’, that horse has already left the barn, county, and state.

In most cases, the country! We are global, you know.

Spend the time to get it perfect, then spend the time to make it perfect. Do not use my time consuming tactics though.

I try to be the meticulous type; however, I still produce flawed work from time to time.

It is okay to rework your plan as often as necessary. Be sure to keep the parts that worked and replace the parts that do not.

I have threw the baby out with the bath water a couple of times. In addition, I have tried to remake the wheel too.

Keeping Your Eyes On The Prize

An absolutely essential step is to keep your eyes on the prize. Doubt, frustration, and uncertainty exists at all turns, in every crevice and corner, and plentiful.

Once the goals are set, achieving them is the next step. Staying focus is relative to reaching the next plateau.

Every milestone reached will draw you closer to the completion of a goal. Spreading yourself thin hinders your progress.

I learned that lesson the hard way. After a couple of restarts, I believe I am on the right path now.

I took my eye off the prize and dropped the ball. Yesterday, I would have claimed it was a waste of time; however, it was a learning experience that made me stronger.

Yeah, I could have been further a long in my endeavors, but thankfully, I am wiser because of it.

I have learned more as a result of my mishaps. This is me being honest with myself.

I can always try again, but I cannot win if I fail to accept my mistakes, make adjustments, or quit.

Food for thought!

In Conclusion

Praying everyone is doing their best to close out 2021, blocking out of memory if necessary, or reflecting to improve 2022.

Almost certainly, a few of us experienced bad times during 2021 endeavors. Perhaps others

enjoyed the fruits of their labor.

Congrats to all, I am positive that we all learned and experienced something that formulates into a story to be told.

As we mark both our successes and failures, we have gained knowledge to help us improve during the new year.

Appreciate, savor, and accept it. Tomorrow is not going to be any more forgiving than yesterday.

Know where you are, where you want to be, and have plans on how you plan to get there.

Check, check, and recheck your delivery. Ensure that you are on the same page as the audience.

If you lose them, you could lose your opportunity.

Identify your MO (Modus Operandi), learn from mistakes and correct them early to avoid future problems.

Do not let doubt, frustration, and uncertainty dictate your next move. Acknowledge, be accountable, and move on.

There are more situations lurking in the shadows. Find ways to quickly conquer obstacles.

And I close out by saying, we need what we need!

If we keep our minds right, we can keep our bodies tight!

Reaffirming our commitment is not an easy decision to make for most, friend. Some can have a short-term commitment, in between, and long-term commitment due to disruptions.
Those who have the time to make commitment work, should be consistent in doing so. I appreciate this. All the best!

Whatever your level of commitment is, is up to you. The idea is to commit to something. Goals are reached based on what you are willing to contribute.

Giving it a day, month, or year to manifest demonstrates your willingness to see it through. Putting time in suggests what you are willing to give it.

An hour a day, 5 days a week can give you enough content to measure up after 3 years. Too long? Give more!

We are all submerged in a melting pot of wondrous proportions. Although our situations may appear to be similar; unfortunately, they will never be the same.

The generalization implies that we all face the same up hill battle; in which, some can invest more now and others cannot.

Thank you for stopping by and engaging me. Let's rock this boat together!

Canty

I agree. Well said, friend. All the best!
