Hi there,
I have a website with Hostgator that's been over there for more than eight years. How do I move the site to WA?
I remember there's an answer in one of the comments saying that you can simply change your DNS settings and type WA URL.
In the future try not to buy your domains from anywhere whose primary business is web hosting no matter how they sweeten the deal. Its like buying gas station food when theres a perfectly good deli across the street. You can run into all types of problems this way.
Don't buy your domains at the same place you plan to host. In the event that you run into problems with the web host you wont have your domain tied up with them.
If your domain is created at HostGator and you want to build your website here at WA, you will want to update the DNS records within your host gator account. You should be able to find this within your domain management there and if you can't, I would contact the support over there and ask them how you update your nameservers to point to a different host.
You can't move "domains" to WA as it's not a registrar. You can move between say, Hostgator and Namecheap and then set the DNS to point to the hosting here. :) Rich.
When you say I can move from hostgator to Namecheap how is that done? Would hostagor allow that?
