The Journey so far...
So here I am, in the second week of my journey on WA. I've completed the Lvl 2 certification course, and am about to move on to Lvl 3. I have created a website http://chewsmovies.com/ , started following over a 100 new people - who I had no idea even existed in this world - and have had 47, wait, make that 48 follow me back so far. I put my first affiliate link up on one of my posts, started getting a couple of comments on my site, and just generally have had a lot of fun.
To be honest, I had no idea what to expect when I started this whole thing. I am a small business owner in Sydney, and I run my own independent production company that produce theatre plays and short films/web series things of that nature. I have always enjoyed working for myself, and I don't mind working hard - in fact, i derive satisfaction from effort... but one thing that had really bothered me was my inability to earn an income that would truly allow me to focus on my artistic goals. So far, in building this site, I have found that it has given me more focus and more drive to complete many different projects i have on the boil. While I definitely want to earn money from it, and free up my time to write and direct, the whole process thus far has been quite cathartic.
I really did not expect this. It makes me happy to create the content, to have my mind constantly ticking over about film and tv, and to be learning. Am I happy with myself? Yes. Am I satisfied? No. But that's ok. Satisfaction will come with consistent ticking off of measurable goals that I set out.
Which brings me to what I want to achieve from the site. I know that I would like it to earn me around $2000AUS extra a month on top of what i earn now. That's roughly 500 dollars a week give or take. But i know this is not achievable without having a website that people want to consistently visit, so for the next week while I do the level 3 certification, I am going to keep my goals really simple:
* create one post per day, share it, and achieve one comment on each post
* Follow 100 more people on WA
* Increase my followers to 100
* Finish the week with one video post - a trailer for my own short film that I made at the end of last year.
They don't seem like much, but i feel the quality of my content and the people who want to hear what I have to say has to increase and get better, and while i do think long term- i can't spend too much time with the dollar signs in my eyes, i need to provide a unique voice first, the revenue will come if i prove i have value.

You have a great website going and lots of good info. I did lots of clicking around to see which movies you reviewed. I thought some of the paragraphs were rather long, folks like to skim online so I'm not sure if they'll slow down and read everything. All in all, great job. Left you a comment.
I too wish to earn an income that will allow more focus on artistic goals - including the completion of two novels and one short story collection. You have some great short term goals - it helps to keep them measurable so that when they are complete the sense of satisfaction will keep you moving forward. I wish you much success in the following weeks and as you get closer to your long term goals :)
