Static front page or blog?
I've had a blog front page with all of my recent posts for about a month and I'm just starting to play with the static front page with no posts at all.
Now they have to navigate using just the header menu. Does anyone have any advice or tips about doing the static front page?

Please take a look at what I've done with it. I'm interested to see if it has worked well for you or if it looks good enough to keep. Any advice or comments are appreciated.
Thank you Wealthy Affiliate, you've been great.

Hi,
I've been cruising around and through your site.
Home page, great.
I also want a static home page. Basically for the same reasons as yours, and to get rid of the ugly looking "posted on the".
Navigating the site with ease, and a pleasant experience.
The header section, and the site name divided over each photo is a great concept. Immediately, the first appearance said what the site is about.
Clicking on Dog Food at the bottom of the page, then landing on that page, I found it had a different feel, voice. Also there is no button back to the home page. Had to leave the page and back click to the home page.
Was it a deliberate design to have your "about me" on the Dog Food Page?
All in all, a good experience.
What site theme is yours?
I've found a site to model after.
Thanks Michael.
Oh thank you for taking your time through my page.
The dog food link is actually the second site I'm working on. I haven't done as much work to that site as I did my dog toy site. There is still a lot to do there.
My header is a photo collection that I created. I wanted something that got the point across and hado a clean feel.
I'll have to check out my theme. I'm not sure the name of it. I've shopped around to a lot of themes and this one has done me good thus far.
Thank you again for taking the time to look and get some ideas for yourself. :)
I think you've used your front page correctly. It introduces what your website does. It's very welcoming with introducing your toy testers. Your site menu speaks for itself.
Good stuff :)
I like it. I have been toying with the idea of switching, myself, if for no other reason than to lower my bounce rate.
Oh. I didn't even think of that. I guess it does force more interaction with the webpage, doesn't it? Very cool. I'll have to watch my bounce rate and see if it changes at all. Thank you so much for your comment.

I have been thinking about a static or dynamic frontpage all morning and then I saw your post :)
Your site looks really personal and it's easy to like!
I think I will go with a static page now :)
Wish you all luck with your site!
