The Balancing Act of having WA in my life!

The days that followed since I signed up with Premium has been humbling for me. One, for the fact that I could not go any faster than I had hoped for because my plate seems to be always full with my current work. Humbling too because my learning curve seems higher than I had previously expected (you know, like you are dreaming of running but not going anywhere than the spot you are at?) but I know that learning new things is different for everyone. With my not so excellent time management (I speak of this in sarcasm of myself), it is humbling to know that unless I reprioritise my time and manage it well, my running on the spot nightmares may just continue day after day.

I am in admiration when I see people having that extra time to read a story book! Something that I yearn badly but time doesn't permit! I know secretly, that they really are good in time management!

So, every day, I tell myself, it's ok to make a little progress because you have so many other things to do. But in reality, we all need to prioritise our time and the things that bring meaning and value to us as individuals. Some things should come up as top priorites and there are many others that after reflecting deeply, may really not be worth our time to be busy with. My WA activity, should be in my priority quadrant. And so are my other two 'major' business portolios.

So I used my favourite mindmapping app (www.mindmeister.com) recently to get clarity and figure out what I really want to do in order to balance my life! Took me 3 days to put my thoughts together and in order, and my brain hurts. Eventually it was just pen and paper and lots of scrawling notes when I finally see the light of clarity! Haha... but the mind mapping software really helps too!

Now I am excited as I have reached a point when I am ready to close a few chapters of my life and discard projects that do not add value to my bank account or my knowledge bank.

I think it is very important for newbies to WA to have a brainstorming and a reflection exercise with themselves and really figure out how they are going to fit their WA activtites with the rest of their current work commitments and relationships with their families and friends. Else, it can be really overwhelming. There is really A LOT to learn if you are new to internet marketing.

You will need a strong commitment to succeed in this business and by that I mean, you really need to re-evaluate everything else that you have on your plate. So my reflection exercise was really to see how I can clear my plate of things that will free my time to focus on my WA training and website development and the string of skills that I need in order to monetize the sites.

Now that my self-reflection is done, it will be goodbyes for me (for a while) on starting any new communty projects or businesses while I focus on buidling my affiliate business. And also saying no to friends who are asking to start a new business together with them. And no too for at least a year on signing up for any new professional courses (because they take so much time!).

And you know what, I love this! I love that I can confidently say NO to someone because I have clarity now on what really matters and how I am going to utilise my time.

Time management is extremely important when working on WA and I think if you want to really succeed in WA, you need to put in the sacrifices and say NO to more things than you would say yes to.

Having a real physical person that you can talk face-to-face to, about your WA journey is important too. Well at least it is for me. So I do share my WA journey with a few friends including my life partner. Not too much info because I do not want them to see stars.

So, here I am, 10 days shy from the new year! And roaring to go with a clearer head! In case I won't make it to write another blog, I wish all celebrating X'mas, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
