Six months to find a niche! Finally!
Hello my WA family!
It's in the air. The year 2022 has finally started since Chinese New Year celebration last weekend! Suddenly, everyone is busy scuttling to work or launching new things.
I can't believe it but I am 6 months old with WA! How time flies!
And I have learned so much - mostly about how to create money on any niche possible! I have learned how to create a website using Wordpress on my own now, how to do keyword research and other things like, how to use Google Analytics, how to rank your Youtube video to top position and many more. Goodness. Six months!
Also, I launched a podcast on Nov 19, that has listeners now from more than 20 countries - and I believe being part of WA, you start to be more courageous! And experimental! I have not monetise the podcast nor my website now because I think I am very much still in the experimental stage.
I love to multi-task and like to have multiple things to do. I think it is better to make life simpler. If there is one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it is about life. Is it all worth it to get really busy? Are we getting our priorities right?
So, together with the pandemic, one of the best few things to happen to me after joining WA is finding more about myself!
My weaknesses and my strengths. And the fool that I sometimes find myself to be! But it's ok. They are there to teach us right?
Help is aplenty from the community but you really need to know what you want to do with your niche. And make sure that you will enjoy the niche that you have chosen becaue your writing will show.
My website is firming up to be what I want it to be but still a long way to go but it's rolling.
So in conclusion, at least the first part of it, being certain of what I want to do for my niche, is my biggest achievement in the first 6 months of being in WA. And I have accepted that this is going to be a journey. So no need to beat myself all over.
It helped too that I am letting go of things that no longer serve me. So, I am cool about letting those go. Including online subscriptions that rakes up more than $300 a month! Don't get me wrong, to be in business, you need to sign up for licenses and subscriptions. Just have to let go of the unncessary ones.
Finally too, my family has accepted that their mommy has hanged her corporate boots and has joined the family business at the side and settling down to a simpler life of writing.
I can't wait now to see how my website will eventually look like when it is launched! Am excited. So in the meantime, I will sponge up the wonderful training courses that are being presented by our fabulous WA folks. And continue making my website functional, putting in quality contents, create the videos and monetisation links!
I hope everyone here in WA will do well this year. To a great year everyone!
Much love!
~Rah

Seems to be having a blast on your journey, Rah
Happy 6 months at Wealthy Affiliate
I know that you are learning new things as you go along.
Just wondering, do you have a target audience for your podcast?
Omg Simone what a great question! This was the one that I was going back and forth with. Yes, I have an audience in mind. After I get passed this hurdle, things seem to go into their places!
Ok
So when you prepare your podcast, do you speak with that audience in mind?
Please don't forget that we do need to do so to attract our audience.
We are not speaking to everyone. We want when someone listens to our podcast, they will know that they are the one that you are talking about.
Simone, actually my podcast I spend very little time on. It was more reading of a children's book daily. So sorry to disappoint. I record about three episodes per day and will end sometime in April this year. It is kind of a very experimental podcast project for me. More to learn the ins and outs of podcasting, my voice projection (which really need improvement) and for me to make mistakes and learn from them. So the target audiences are for children and parents. I do intend to make a podcast for my new WA website which I'm developing now and this time for adults. I do agree with you that the audience is an impt element for podcasting. You can cast your net wide, you never know who will come to listen. But good to whom we are targetting. Couldn't agree more!
Rah, why are you stopping!
If you already have an audience, why not continue, even though it was meant to be an experimentation. ;)
Tks for the encouragement Simone! I just thought that I wanted to focus on something more adult...haha. I see what I can do to it when April comes. Appreciate all your replies!
