Doing Something I Never Thought I Would Do

In life, there's an old but true saying: never say never. I know from experience that is true, yet I, along with other people continue to say that about things, believing that we'll NEVER do a certain thing.

Well, the day before yesterday, I did something that I never though I would do on Wealthy Affiliate: create another site in less than several months. I was thinking about creating another site but only after working on my first site for the first several months or so.

Common sense and other people's posts say that it's best to have only one site in the beginning. It's easier to not get burned out and you have only one website to put all your focus and energy into. So what happened to make me change my mind?

Seeing the direction my website and interests were heading in. I originally created my website to inspire people to get ideas on what to create, but after writing several posts, I realized some things.

One, I was interested in fabric, yarn, and needlework more than the a lot of the other stuff I would later write about. Two, I was also interested in writing about fine and/or decorative arts, but didn't want to have that on the same site as my arts and crafts posts. Three, I thought that all things I wanted to write about was too broad and needed to be narrow down. It's still a little broad, but not as broad as writing about ALL types of arts and crafts.

So, I decided that I will split my current posts between the two websites. One website (which will keep the same domain name and site purpose) will focus on fine and decorative arts, while the other, FYNarts.com will focus on fabric, yarn and needlework arts and crafts (thus the name of the site).

Depending on my upcoming schedule and time, I plan on spending either one day or week on one site and the next day or week on the other site. Given my schedule and how long it takes me to write a post, I'll probably spend one week on each site.

If you have any suggestions on how I can go about managing two sites, let me know in the comments. I would greatly appreciate it!
