Very Late and Very Tired
Introduction
Good Afternoon to all you lovely people at the great WA Family. As always hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
The title of this week's blog says it all.
Did not even get out of bed until 10am, and then felt more like snuggling back under the duvet, I was so very tired, in fact I am still tired, not quite sure why, but it could be the fresh air at the football yesterday.
Did walk a mile to the meeting on Thursday Evening. also did the return trip, as a result woke in the night with very tender hips, due no doubt to lack of exercise. The upside was when I went to the shop yesterday morning I walked better than I have done for a very long time.
Do appreciate that my body is telling me to do more walking, the problem with that is getting the energy to do it in the first place!!
Having just read the last sentance, this blog could be very short indeed, having done very little this week.
The Last Few Days
Really need to think about just what have I done!
Did spend a little time reducing some old branches to a more appropriate size for the compost bin, as a result my very old electric saw finally gave up the ghost, one of the plastic blade holders has snapped. Did manage to make a start on the pile of old branches that I have in the middle of the garden, until I decided that it was no longer safe to use the saw. Just need a new one now!! Do have a chain saw, in fact I have two, but much prefer the control that I get with a electric hand saw!
Have found a planner that I can alter for my Great Grandson to use, though, when I mentioned it yesterday he was not quite as enthusiastic! But we will see.
Had some ideas for a new product or project, as a result have done a few rough drafts to see how things will look. It will take sometime to do this, but there is no rush, if it does get done, then great I could just make some money.
You will gather that at the moment I am just in a fed up, could not care less frame of mind.
I will snap out of it, but, until I can have another go in the garden, could be like this for an hour or two, or even a day or two. Think that we all go through these phases, every so often.
Truth to tell niether of us are well, my shoulders, neck and spine are causing me some very unpleasant moments. But I still refuse to give in by taking pain killers! My wife's knees are a new problem that she now has, the joys of getting old!!
The Next Few Days
At the moment I really do not the answer to this question, will think of something useful to do before to long.
One highlight of the week, I mentioned the other week of my interest in magic, in addition to my stage and cabaret acts, I also carried around an old camera bag, full of small tricks, we always called them pocket tricks. The other week a dealer I know sent me a new one, so I started to play with this last night, at least that will keep me occupied.
Conclusion
Not a lot to say really, just hope that things get better soon!
Be happy, healthy and wealthy.
Please do stay safe,
God Bless.
Stuart

Ups and downs happen to us all Stuart... I had a pretty down weekend myself where I was not feeling well at all and productivity was non existent...
Still sounds like you managed to get things done though!!
We can't change the past but we can certainly have a say in what happens in the future!!
Stay safe and well my friend! :-)
Many thanks for this Jessie, hope that you are now feeling much better.
Kindest regards!;-)
You're most welcome Stuart and I am feeling a bit better now... nowhere near 100% yet though!
Enjoy the rest of your week my good friend! :-)
It’s MAGIC Stuart.
We should get on a video chat sometime and talk “Magic” shop.
Maybe we can come up with a million dollar idea to sell to magicians. 😊💰
It sure is Brad!
Since I stood down from all things I no longer go to Conferences or reunions, which is where I have done a lot of close up since I gave up stage and cabaret work.
Where about are you based?
Are you old enough to remember Supreme Magic and the Magigram, often contributed to that with ideas to improve existing tricks, as well as detailing my own, but that was many years ago, like at least thirty.
(Magic) Stuart
I’m in Minneapolis, MN.
Yes I remember Supreme Magic. We still have their Birds from Newhere.
I’m 67 now.
My first impression of Magic was at a very young age about 5.
I was full time in the 80s and 90s. Now I might do 1 or 2 gigs a year.😊
When I left the RAF when I was forty, my Agent wanted me to go full time, even had a season at Skegness lined up for me, but having two youngish children and a mortgage, decided it was not worth the risk, should have stayed more semi-pro, and it may have worked.
Hindsight!!

Hey VH
By the time you read my response, you'll be ready for a new entry. I'm in NY and have been here since last Sun. My MIL passed away on the 3rd. It was a rough week leading up to it. Ironically her mom also passed on Oct 3rd. My MIL was in the hospital for pneumonia and we didn't think she'd come out but she was determined NOT to pass in the hospital. She got home on a Wed and passed on Thurs. She was ready so it's really bittersweet.
We just got back from the funeral. It was a quick service and I'm actually ready to go home but my ex and both sons are here so I'm waiting until they leave so I can wash all the linens and make sure the house is clean. Having said that, I don't know when I'll be coming home. I know my ex has to leave tomorrow which is good and I do like hanging out with my eldest son. So we'll see.
You sound like your week didn't go as well as normal but not to worry. Seasons are changing and your body needs time to adjust. So, don't be too hard on yourself. You'll get back into the groove!!!!
Don't be too concerned about your grandson either. They have a different way of doing things than we do. Times change and with the advent of the computer, many of the younger generation do not use paper copies of anything. I NEED the paper. I can't even read a book on a Kindle type thing. I need to feel the pages. It's just what I'm used to I guess.
Well, it's been a long day so I'll close for now. You take care of yourself.
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
First of all my most sincere condolences on the passing of your exMIL, please convey them to her son and any other family members.
I did guess what had happened with your delay in commenting on my last post.
No doubt, whilst it was a blessing in some ways it is still someone whom you have had a closeness with over the years, and you will miss her.
Once you have done the cleaning you will be pleased to go back home.
Things here are not that good my RW is not at all well, some days I think that she is going, then she will have three meals the next, Having said that her knees are now a problem, so she has to sleep downstairs.
This is causing her to get confused.
However, I will do my best to make sure that she is looked after.
You will forgive more tonight, hope to have a better blog tomorrow!
My love and prayers are with you all,
As always,
Your VH
