Planning, Sorting and Producing
Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well, and as Winter starts to draw closer in the Northern Hemisphere also warm.
A title to get your thoughts going in a number of ways, thought that I would get your grey cells working as I write this before I make my Evening meal, in fact it is even possible that I have a break and have my Evening meal for reasons which I will explain.
Think it was about 093 0 when I deigned to rise this morning, I had a liesurely breakfast, then did some washing, when that was hung out, as it is the end of the month thought that I would pop up to the ATM and check my accounts so I could decide which ones I could use tomorrow when I pay my bills.
It was almost time to prepare lunch, I did give myself a little treat today, a cup of soup, then Pulled Pork with Barbeque Sauce, Roast Potatoes, and Honeyed Roast Parsnips, it was absolutely lovely, followed by a High Protien Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake, to finish a couple of cream crackers with St. Auger Cheese, must not forget just one glass of Malbec. I then sat in my chair with a cup of tea. It had gone chilly in the front room so I put the fire on, that was a mistake I dropped off and woke around 6pm!
Made a cuppa, brought the washing in and put it on the airer to finish off and then started my weekly blog to you lovely people.
The Last Few Days
Will start with yesterday, I went to see the Christmas Lights being switched on, it was as always a very pleasant occasion, I met up with a number of people that I had not seen for a long time. After the reception was shown to my seat in the VIP enclosure, front row this year!! Could be my age!!
As always I did have a little wander meeting more people that I knew, must confess that at the start that I felt it hard knowing that Yvonne would not be there when I got home, but the Christmas Music and general good cheer did do me a lot of good. The lights were lovely as usual, this year the front of the Town Hall was covered in lights, it looked truely spectacular. We all missed the fire works, they were stopped some years ago as people complained that it upset their animals.
When I got home made myself some supper had a glass of Malbec (alright two or three) before I retired for the evening, after a most pleasant day.
Have been having a general think about the future, which in some ways explains the title of this weeks blog. It is time that I set out a plan for certainly the next twelve months if not my future, I will always love and miss Yvonne, but she is in a better place now, I have to accept this and get on with my live, it does not detract from my feelings and thoughts.
Getting peckish, just put a pan of water on to boil, I fancy a couple of boiled eggs tonight, followed by a slice of Chocolate cake.
Watched a couple of painting videos this week, to get me back in the swing of things when I get the brushes out again!! The other week I saw a wooden carry box for artists, this was complete with everything for the artist who uses acrillics which I do, so I bought it, I have had a similar one for many years which I have my water colour pencils in, this goes with me on holiday, so I thought another for around the garden would be useful.
I went to the Garden Centre where I used to work, as always received a lovely welcome from the staff, some of whom I trained, had a spot of lunch in the Cafe, also bought a Santa on his sleigh, with six reindeers, this lights up, I have just switched it on , it is in the window, on the window ledge in the front room, a lot of folk round here do have displays in their front rooms, also on the front of their houses, thought the I would join them this year.
The Eggs are ready, back soon.
They were very nice, it took me back to our Sunday Tea before Yvonne was taken poorly, She often cooked that for me on a Sunday, poured a cuppa out and will eat my Chovalate Cake, whilst we chat, or I type!
Pleased to say that my six monthly check up at the Dentists went OK. Gillian was unable to call this week, due to her dental appointment.
The Next Few Days
Thinking of the future, as you are aware I would like to redesign the garden, when I was in the Garden Centre I saw some very water features, would not mind having one, have always liked water in the garden. It dawned on me that when I working at the Garden centre that I qualified as a Garden Designer, in fact i was half way through the general gardening degree course when I left. It is an idea that I look at my course notes to see if anything comes to mind regarding my garden here!
I have a feeling that I could be at Legion Branch Meeting on Tuesday, do know that I am at a SGM of the Cricket Club, on Wednesday we have to ratify some rule changes from the ECB, it will not take long, but it will be nice to see some of the members again. The fixture list came out this week.
With luck I hope to get an A4 sheet of paper out and make a start on planning the future, I have started to look at the new offerings on WA, looks really good.
If I do not close soon, you will take forever to read this. It would appear that I am in a really good place tonight.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do take care and stay safe.
God Bless
Stuart

Happy you enjoyed yourself, Stuart. Someone should mention that the lack of fireworks has upset some humans. ;-)
I like where WA is going also.
Have a great week Stuart!
Mel
Hi Mel,
Did reply to this must have forget to pres reply!
It did upset some humans, the children, sorry adults!!
I also like the way that WA is going, must knuckle down and use it more.
Have a great week.
Stuart
You did have a lovely Sunday lunch and a relaxing afternoon. I am sure the afternoon nap did you good and you'll be in a better position to map out your future. It's much easier to be goal oriented and make good decisions when you've had a rest.
We've been to a garden centre too - they are all so lovely in the run-up to Christmas. I got a sweet wicker dog with a cyclamen and a couple of azaleas as a birthday present - and yesterday and today I got more houseplants as presents. My kitchen windowsill looks really nice now.
Have a great week. I am going to do some planning - just up until Christmas/New Year. And then I'll map out 2026.
Take care and keep warm.
Isabella
Hi Isabella,
Happy Birthday, glad that you got some lovely gifts, plants are so lovely and the right variety will last for years. I am a so and so for taking cuttings, especially from house plants, you can grow them on and give as presents to other people.
I said that I was using A4 to plan I did mean A2/3, you could barely plan a meal on a sheet of A4!
Have a great week, also stay warm.
God Bless
Stuart
Thank you, Stuart.
I love taking cuttings too. And not only cuttings - right now I have a family of spider plants to give away as well as several aloe vera babies.
I see what you mean about paper sizes - and with your interest in art, you have large sheets available. I used to have A2 and A3 sheets and loved making collages with children, but I gave them all away when we moved and decided to get new ones if I needed them again.
Enjoy your week.
Isabella
Morning Isabella,
I bought an Agarve sometime ago, that is now ready for moving, that is an excuse to take some cuttings!
Have a great week
Stuart

Well VH,
As usual, you've been busy again. I'm glad you got out to see all the lights. I'm sure it did do you some good. VIP even!!!!! WOW. Lights always make me smile but then I do love sparkly, blingy, glittery, light filled things. Of course you are going to miss Yvonne when you got home. That won't end for some time yet. Not that you'll ever stop missing her but it will become easier as the years go by. You seem to be keeping busy so that will help a lot.
UGH, I get to do my monthly bills tomorrow. I tried doing them earlier but found out that if I do them before the 2nd, one bill messed me up with their cycle and they tried to charge me a late fee. They thought I skipped a month when, in fact, I paid too early. Go figure. I like to sit down and do them ALL at once then I don't have to worry about the month.
You're dinner/lunches always sound so nice (sans parsnips). Too bad you didn't live closer. I'd buy the groceries if you cooked them. LOL I used to date a guy who liked to cook. He'd cook, I'd be his sous chef, then I'd clean up. It worked for me!
I love the idea of a fireplace. They are so cozy. So I get why you fell asleep. A water garden? That sounds great. One of the things I've thought about as well. Again, one of those things that I find cozy and relaxing with a glass of wine listening to the water. A friend of mine created a whole little stream in his backyard complete with a little bridge. His wife bought a bunch of koi fish and filled it. NOT a cheap venture but they have money to burn. It would be relaxing to hang out in his yard but they also have a ton of ducks and dogs. lol
So, have you ever decided to clean, organize and get rid of a bunch of stuff???? Well, that's what I started this morning. My house (all 3 floors AND the garage) looks like it's in a snow globe and someone shook it up!!!! It's a MESS!!!!! I'm making progress though. This is my break for my back. It was begging for a minute to relax. lol
I'm ready for all the events I'm attending though. I have almost everything packed up. There's just a few things left to buy and I'll be done with that. I must say I'll be glad when my bookclub meeting is done and the church women's Christmas party are over. I'm not looking forward to either one. Both have been a lot of work and I told a couple friends to lock me up if they hear me cave and volunteer to host either again!!!!! I always feel guilty when people pressure me knowing that I really DO NOT want to do it.
This coming year I'm rearranging myself! I need to take better care of me physically and mentally. I really want to get back into WA training. So, I have to make a schedule and not let people get me sidetracked doing things I'd rather not do.
Well, my back isn't back to normal yet but I must get more done. I'm in a time crunch here for the kids to come for Christmas. I have a friend coming over next week to help me put a futon together. It's quite heavy. I have no doubt that I can do it alone but 4 hands make quicker work. I kind of have a schedule showing all that needs to be done.
So, continue to be in a good place and enjoy the rest of your week.
Take care
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
How nice to have your post before I go to bed, send me to sleep with sweet dreams!!
Yep, I did my monthly bills this morning, I always pay a little more on my Council Tax each month so that is now finished until the new bill arrives in April.
I could manage that, you getting the supplies, I would happily cook!!
I remember advising a cousin that had a rill which led to a stream at the bottom of the garden on what plants to grow, having said that did the same for a holiday type camp that had a stream on the edge of the chalet area. Koi are not cheap that is for certain.
It will be great for you to have the kids over for Christmas. but I am not up to that just yet.
I have alot to think about next year, including getting more involved with WA.
It is bed time soo.....
Goodnight, God Bless,
Sleep well as always in my prayers.
Hugs and kisses,
Your VH
