Introduction
Good Afternoon to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
There is a very good reason for the title of this weeks blog it is true! Those of you who live in the UK will know that last night or rather early this morning we went onto British Summer Time, the clocks going forward one hour. I woke up OK, or ahould I say got up at about my normal time, just a little tried.
Had my shower, made my breakfast, made sure that everything was ready for dinner, made a coffee, sat in my chair and nodded off. I did not sleep for too long, but had to start getting the dinner on when I did. I have always been able to wake when I need to if something matters, not sure if it is due to the time that I spent in the RAF or not.
The dinner is now cooking OK, as luck would have it I decided to treat myself and buy a whole Chicken, I always cooked this when Yvonne was alive on the Saturday night in the Air Fryer. Now that I am on my own decided to do it today, however last night went back to my usual practice and cooked it last night, just in case the clocks going forward messed me about. It was a good job that I did!!
Have just stopped to have my dinner, only two courses today instead of my usual three or four. Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets (or Devils on Horseback), Brussels Sprouts, Mixed Herby Root Vegeatbles and Gravy, followed by Chocolate Chip Sponge Cheesecake.
I have in the past had comments about my choice of veg, must point out that as a War Baby, not only did we have to eat what we were given (or Starve!) but a lot of families had their own veg gardens, so we ate what was grown. I certainly am grateful, as I see younger family members who turn their noses up at some veg.
Talking of Veg Gardens our first house after the war had a very large veg garden and orchard, togather much larger than my own garden which is a decent size, certainly by modern size garden which are nothing more than pocket size hankies!!

The Last Few Days
The weather has not been to bad this week, thou it is now raining! Did manage to get some compost material into one bin before they came to collect on Friday.
Not done to much on the websites this week, but have been able to do a little work on the freebie that I want to offer on my cooking site, also added a couple of more recipes to it.
Talking of food thanks to two of our ladies who mentioned frozen food, I decided to check my freezer, on Tuesday before I went shopping decided to get some Braising Steak out ready for my Evening Meal, it proved to be not really edible. So in the shop I saw this lovely piece of Braising Steak, which I bought, when I got it home, thought what a lovely large piece it was, went to put it on a plate, it was in fact two pieces, each big enough for a meal, so one went in the freezer and I will eat that this wee, before that gets frosted !.
The Next Few Days
To be honest as yet I have not given much thought, when my brain and body get back to normal will have a long hard think about where to go next. Having just looked at the Calendar for April, notice that I have few things on, including a couple of four day Cricket matches, must confirm the Bus times for those.
The years seem to fly by as you get older.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do take care and stay safe.
God Bless
Stuart
