More Decisions,and even More Decisions!
Introduction
Good Morning to all you wonderful people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
Thought that I would try to get my blog done before lunch for a change, as usual I do have a lot to try to fit in today, usual gardening,washing, plus the usual house keeping bits and bobs.at least I do know what I am having for both lunch and my evening meal, and have got some of it prepared.
As I have been asked before thought that I would use a photograph of me 'dressed up' kindly sent to me by the local Mayor, which was taken at the VJ Day Service. If you are not sure I am the one with bowler hat and presidential chain. As an aside this will be the last photograph taken of me wearing it, as I resigned on Tuesday, the Chairman was totally getting at me all the time, this was not doing my mental any good, so I made a decision. I am sure that I will feel better for doing so, though I will miss it.
The gentleman whose head is half missing is a retired Colonel, nice chap, and very supportive of me.
The Last Few Days
I mentioned in my last blog, that I was concerned about the number of websites that I have. To explain further, some of them are just domains, registered for future possible use. Deciding that things need to be sorted, I did a count and have found to my horror that I have no less than twenty-one (YES-21) domains registered. At the latest price increase that is over $200 a year, this has got to change.
Just nipped to the shop, reaised that I am having white wine today, and that I have no cheese, sorted that little problem out.
Over the last two days I have noted all my registered domains down, with comments as to what state that they are in, already removed two from the automatic re-register list. It has also made me think about joining several together, more decisions!!
Just put the Grill on, for those of you who like to know my menu on Sunday, I am having two grilled fillets of Salmon, these I will top with butter and black pepper, served with boiled new potatoes and steamed minted Peas. Followed by Black Forest Gateau, washed down with a glass (alright, one or two) of Pinot Grigio, an Italian bottle that I won in a raffle, then I will have Cheese and biscuits, with a few grapes.
This could be followed by a nap in the chair.
Have managed to do some cuttine back of some of the shrubs, the gaps created do make the garden look not only bigger but a lot tidier.
The Next Few Days
Think that this fairly obvious the websites and more tidying of the garden, as it is Compost week again on Friday, hopefully I will also be able to get to the Council tip as I have some black bags of garden refuse to take as well.
Tuesday I have arranged for the local Squadron of the Air Training Corps to take their Band and pay at the Cricket, this of cours I will be hosting a glutton for punishment (ha ha). This is my old Squadron which I joined some 67 years ago.
Nearly time for lunch.

What a full update—thank you for sharing! I think you made a wise decision stepping away from the role if it was affecting your mental health. Sometimes the hardest choices are the best ones for our well-being. And wow—21 domains! I can imagine that was quite the realization, but it sounds like you’re already on top of streamlining things.

Well, look at you all dressed up. Nice photo!!!!! Thank you for sharing it. I'm still glad you resigned. We don't need stress from anyone in our lives. We can create enough of our own....well, maybe that's just me.
Twenty one domains????? That is crazy. Who can handle that many. Have you tried selling some? I have a few and did get rid of one this year. It was actually the one with the most data in it too but I really wasn't happy with it. That's a chunk of money you're spending for them too. Money better spent elsewhere?
I'm a red wine person. My daughter is the Pinot Grigio one. I can drink it if there is nothing else and I want wine. I drink a lot of unsweetened tea or just plain water (w/lemon). I haven't had a wine since I went to my daughters in Jun. I just won't have one by myself but I know you do all the time. I just can't enjoy it. I had to look up Black Forest Gateau. I never heard of it but it sounds really good by the description I found.
I volunteered this weekend at my church for a children's event. I do background stuff like getting things set up then helping to get food out. I helped wrap over 900 hot dogs! It was hot out and by the time I got home, I was tired from just standing for hours. I'm still tired today but I think much of it is the junk I've been eating this week. Next week won't be much better. It's another busy, crazy week then it will be SEPT. Can you believe it! I'm actually very happy. I love the Fall! Sept 1 on a Monday will be my sign to get back on track with my life!

Forget to mention in my last repy that I do still tinkle with Ancestry, when I see something that maybe of use, but I do too much as my domains show.
I do enjoy a glass of red each night, rarely more than two. Will be none tonight as I am driving first thing, that is one rule that I have. Also drink a lot of tea, coffee and water, not had sugar in a drink for years.
Black Forest Gateax, is not just good it is totally delicious!! Not had one for sometime, I tend to keep a small selection of deserts in the big freezer.
You are correct regarding the domains, a good idea to try to sell some of them, may need to pick your brains on that subject. I tend to get carried away with things sometimes, and I now have to be more careful with how and where I spend my money. My son is always going on at me about what I spend, think that it is only so I have some left for him!!
Juat had an enforced break, needed to hang some washing out, then the phone rang, when I got off that, I hung the rest of my washing out. Decided to sort out lunch, will have pate today, it will Ham Cobs tomorrow with being out all day. Then I can have one of the ready dinners out of the freezer when I get back.
Have you ever tried these ready dinners? Just pop them in the microwave and in a few minutes you have a meal. I had one on Saturday, Liver, onion gavy, mashed potatoes and mixed ved, it was very nice.
I really buy them for a Sunday as buring a Chicken is too much for me, and a joint is far too expensive.
You are correct about stress, I can cause enough for myself, without any help from elsewhere!
I know that you help out at Church, but 900 hot dogs!!
Just finished my 10am coffee, it had gone cold!!

It still makes me laugh that you hang your wash out. I must admit, I do miss my clothes line sometimes especially for towels but generally, I can't imagine not having a clothes dryer or even hair dryer for that matter. lol
Yes, we have those meals here and I used to use them a lot especially when I was working but am trying NOT to use my microwave much AND trying NOT to eat processed food. It's a struggle though! You did lose me at liver and onions. I can't even look at that and would have to be STARVING to eat it. lol
Yep, our hot dog guy cooked all those hot dogs. He does every year. We also used 230 lbs of ice for sno cones and made 300 cotton candy treats along with I don't know how many boxes of chips. The only disturbing part is that parents aren't teaching their children to value anything any more. They just throw wrappers and cups on the ground. My kids knew better than to do that!
Ok, I'm sounding old but some things should NOT go out of style.

Thanks, Stuart for the updates. Yes, these are more decisions to make, and it's good that you have already put them into plan and by this time, some if not most of them have been done. Keep us posted about your websites, the garden, and the cuisine. It's so encouraging!

Oh Stuart - 21 registered domains!! Glad two are not going to be automatically re-registered any more. But your title is perfect - what a lot of decisions that will mean!
As Mel says - reading about your Sunday lunch is making me hungry. But we have our dinner in the evening, and it's not the first time that after reading your blog I feel I absolutely 'need' some ice cream. Today we are actually going to have salmon tonight because my vegetarian son is coming, so salmon, potatoes and carrots it is.
