Home Again
Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always I do hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
Please do take my very grateful thanks, for all your wonderful comments, prayers and love for your comments regarding to Yvonne's whilst she was in hospital.
Yes, you did read that right, was in hospital as she returned home early on Friday Evening.
It is so good to have her home again, have put her in the dining room ward, lol. They have provided a hospital bed and camode, she is not able to walk very far at the moment so descending two steps one seven inches deep, the other eight inches is not on.
The Last Few Days
This I began to describe in the last paragraph, but to continue from where I left off, we have asked for a hospital tray, so that Yvonne can eat from it, also she can have her drinks on it, at the moment it is rather a difficult job.
The Council have provided care cover four times a day, I have had to ask that the visit at 7am, is moved to at least 8am. Already feeling the pressure, so I need a lie-in!!
Whilst it is great to have her home again, it is very demanding, as I have to do the nedication drinks, as well as regular coffee, in fact Yvonne now prefers the way I make Cappicino, so this is the preferred drink. Not forgetting the three meals a day, OK this is my fault as the carers would do it, but having cooked all three meals a day for us both for over sixteen years, prefer to do it myself.
In fact, whilst she was still in Hospital we sat and made a number of menu plans. This also means that we can eat when we want too, and not when the carer arrives.
The problem that I have had today is that my spine has been troubling me, this does cause a problem when I have to spend more than a few seconds bent over the bed, in fact agony is a better way to describe it (I know always moaning).
Have not been able to get in the garden this week, not enough time and with snow and ice causing a major problem, not too mention spending 4/5 hours driviung to the hospital and visiting Yvonne. Would like to think that I will have time this week, but if today is anything to go by that could be a 'pipe' dream.
As always I will take each day as it comes, and try not to over do it.
I am finding that I am having to put the washing machine at least every other day, the problem that I have is we do not have a lot of space to hang up wet clothes. NO, I do not have a tumble dryer.
Did have five minutes to look at an idea for the business, but that is just an idea at the moment, as it will take time to sort out.
The Next Few Days
The main objective will be too look after Yvonne.
Anything else will be a bonus!!
Conclusion
It is great to have Yvonne home again, but I did not realise just how hard and time consuming it would be seeing to what she needs, as she spends most days in bed at the moment. The first job is to build her strength up.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do stay safe.
God Bless,
Stuart

Fantastic news to hear that Yvonne is back at home where she should be Stuart!!
It's not always going to be easy for you, but.. she is in the best place and has the best person in the world to take care of her...
Forget about your online businesses for a while, they aren't going anywhere and focus on what is truly important in life ok...
And of course... try to get a bit of time for yourself as well!!!
Take care my dear friend... my prayers and best wishes will be with you both always...

Hi Jessie,
Thank you so very much for your very kind words. it is hard work and in some ways demanding , but I would much sooner it be like than driving to Derby every day.
Take care and have a great week.
Stuart
I certainly hear you there Stuart...
Just keep on doing the best that you can do... and I know you will do that!

Hey VH
Glad to hear Yvonne is home and you don't have that long drive back and forth. However, it will now be up to you to take care of everything that the hospital may have done. I'm sure you realize that already. I'm happy to hear that you do have some help though. Seven o'clock does seem like a bit early so you were wise to adjust that.
SO, you've been doing 3 meals a day for years?!?!?! Don't you have a single brother??? lol I'd be happy if someone made me ONE meal a day! I just do not like to cook so I'm not fussy and plain coffee would do as long as it had caffeine in!! lol
You have snow and ice already? I'm SO very thankful for simple rain. I'm already stressing about going to NY to my daughter's house for Christmas. I'm praying for no snow in my travels.
OK, how do you live without a dryer??? Wouldn't it be easier (less wear and tear on your body) than having to wash that often? I could live without a lot of extras but not a washer and or dryer. Maybe a Christmas gift?
Speaking of.....off to do my cards. PLEASE do find time to rest yourself. People count on you so you must be in tip top shape.
Have a good week.
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
Having had ll sorts of visitors today, welfare, general carers and so on, am pretty whacked.
We are trying to work toards less official carers as in a few weeks they will cost me around eighty pounds a day.
Need to take to my daughter and daughter-in-law to see if we can work a system between us.
Made a start today as Yvonne let me change her special pants, was not embarrased, this is a good sign as far as I am concerned as it does have to be done,
Not forgetting that I am cheaper.
Have discovered that one of the carers is supposed to prepare some meals, have stopped that, also said that eight is early enough in the morning.
Yvonne has not had a bad day today three meals, not big ones, but better than nothing. Plenty of Cappucino.
Not sure if I mentioned that she has the onset of dementia, it does show occasionally.
Regarding the dryer, put the wet clothes on a clothes horse by the radiators and they are usually dry within twenty four hours, ready for the next load of washing.
Finishing off a bottle of Malbec, only a couple of glasses, co will say Goodnight and God bless.
Have a great week and take care.
As always

Hang in there, Stuart! At least she is home...and though it is not easy, I'm sure you will come through. Do hope your back gets better soon.
No, it certainly doesn't. I have my own battles with arthritis, and they are not fun. Getting older is certainly not for the faint of heart.

Hi Stuart,
I have only recently joined but read your blog and wanted to say to remember to care for yourself too. If you have friends and family nearby, do reach out, it's not that you can't cope when you ask for help, it's self care which you need also. Your wife is super lucky to have such a caring husband. I hope she continues to get better!
Kind wishes to you both,
Eve :)
Hi Eve,
First of all welcome to the Great WA Family, we are all here to help and no question is a daft one.
Thank you for your very kind comments< I am already having to accept what you say, my family think that I am just stubborn, I prefer independent!!
Enjoy the site and have a great week.
Kind regards,
Stuart
Stubborn/independence has got you where you are in life I'm sure, but remember strength is asking for help when you need it so be kind to yourself! I hope your wife is doing well...
I am really enjoying being part of this 'family', it is so very supportive!
Have a good rest of the week yourself!
Hi Eve,
Thanks for this, a comment sticks out, it is a Family and very supportive, which I have found and treasured over the last few months.
Best wishes
Stuart
