Back on Track

Introduction

Good Morning to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.

Thought that I would make a start on my weekly blog while the oven is warming up so that I can put the joint in, you read that right I am cooking a proper dinner today, instead of one of my ready plated ones.

To save you wondering today's menu is:

Fruit Juice, Roast Leg of Pork with Crackling, Roast Potatoes, Steamed Brocolli and Carrots, Yorkshire Pudding and Gravy. For Desert Strawberry Eton Mess followed by Cheese and Biscuits. All washed down with a glass (or two!) of Malbec.

Thought that I would do a joint today as it will last at least another day and not leave me wondering what to cook on Monday Evening.

The Last Few Days

In many ways I am a lot happier with how the last week has gone, not totally due to the weather but satisfied enough to see what has been achieved.

You will gather that very little has been done in the garden, but I did do some planning, from the kitchen patio I go through a gate way this leads to a path, on the right hand side is a soil border, this used to have a hardy Fuchsia in it, it was very old and has died, as this border is now overgrown, I will dig it up and replant it. To this end I have ordered some Dianthus (Pinks) to plant there, these will be inter planted with Crocus (Orange with a Brown Stripe) and Tete-a-Tete Daffodils, all on order. Thought that it would bring a nice touch of colour ad you enter the top garden. At the end of the is border is none flowering Honeysuckle, which I have trimmed and trained into a dome shape.

It will also mean that I am getting sort of organised in the Garden! I do have lots of ideas what to do where now, just got to get outside and do it.

Did go to the Dentists, she was very pleased with how the teeth are doing.

A new sort of general purpose shop has opened in Burton, in fact it has replaced the now defunct Wilko's, had a nose the other day it is really a more up market version of the store that it has replaced. I bought a stick hoover at a very reasonable price, I had a battery brush cleaner, but the battery keeps failing (I do charge it up ) so I have decided to replace it, the new one is a mains one, but light enough for me to carry about, find that the large vacuum cleaners are too much for me to lug around these days.

Tried it out, it cleans really deep into the pile of the carpet so I am very pleased.

Back to working on both the Cooking and Gardening websites. I have set my self daily targets when I am able, these are one hundred words a day on my Gardening Book Introduction and a recipe or useful hint a day on my Cookery Book. Not able every day but at least it is now on my brain list to do. The idea behind the introduction on the gardening site is that it will trigger off other chapters, at least I hope that it will!!

Managed to catch a Bus to my old Garden centre, saw a couple of solar operated water features which would fir nicely into the garden when it has the weeds removed!! Treated myself to Lunch! In general it has become very expensive,

A lot more relaxed this week, even finding time to read my kindle!!

The Next Few Days

Back to the Bank on Thursday, one of these days I will get things sorted out, the annoying thing is that both my Banks have shut in the local village and I have to go into Burton, still at least I have a Bus Pass! This does give chance to look at the new shop as they have a good Garden section which I would like to explore.

It will depend on the weather, the garden is becoming a priority, would not mind a trip out possibly to Derby, will also carry on working on the websites.
