Introduction

Good Afternoon to all you all lovely people at the Great WA Family, as usual do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.

As always the title could have been any many of things, but as I have a major problem with my computer think that I will start with that this week.

I have been having trouble trying to delete unwanted messages, every time that I pressed delete the page just shut off, phoned my man or said go into Outlook and empty your inbox, that is OK apart from the fact that page that comes up is for some University.

Just had a brain wave, if I can get into dropbox, then I could buy more space, at least I think that might work!!

The Last Few Days

Went to the opticians on Tuesday to pick up my new glasses, find that I am now using them quite a lot.

Several of the days last week saw me involved in commemorating VE Day, I have a recollection of a bonfire in the street outside where I was born, with chestnuts roasting in the embers, but as I was barely two, that is all.

On Thursday, I laid a wreath on behalf of the Branch at the Local War Memorial, afterwards a local resteruant owner invited us back for coffee, this was most welsome as it was quite cold.

In the Evening I attendd a Beacon Lighting at the local Parish Church, before laying another wreath.

On Saturday Evening I attended a concert by the local Brass Band and choir, it was quite superb, I did get a little hoarse as I sang away quite merrily to a lot of familiar war tunes. During the Act of Remembrance, which I had the honour of reciting, I also gave the orders for the four Standard Bearers, these were all Cadets from the loal Air Training Corps, they did the job superbly.

After the concert finished I decided to go for a pint, meeting several people that I have not seen for many years. Must stop this visiting the pub again, that is the second time since Yvonne passed away, as I went in on Thursday as well, I still had my medals on so I was treated to a couple of pints, most enjoyable!!

My Branch Secretary got concerned as the concert finished with Jerusalem, which I last sang at Yvonne's Funeral, she wanted me to go out, but I was OK a little blip that was all, then I sang my heart out.

Not done a great deal in the garden this week, yet to finish the rock garden, did a little pruning, as I begin to refill the compost bins again.

With the computer playing up, have done some research in my note books, getting ready for when I can use the machine properly again.

When I get back from my holidays I will pick up my new computer, well a refurbished one, so I should be able to fire on all cylinders again!! BUt that is aome weeks away yet!!

The Next Few Days

If truth be toldI have not got a clue, do have two trips to the Dentists this week, need some serious work doing as I have been having some pain since just before Yvonne died, will not go into the lurid detail.

If I still have problems with the computer, can see me doing a lot of work by pen and paper, but you can never tell can you.

If I can get the energy levels back up I could get a lot of the gardening jobs done, but I will see.

Today, for the first time a in a while I actually cooked a proper Sunday Lunch, I remembeer buying a Pork Leg, the last time that I went to the freezer shop, so I cooked that with roast potatoes and cauliflower chesse. it really was very nice. Finished off with a yogurt. With going to the dentists tomorrow, just had one glass of wine.

Think that is about all for this week.

Be happy, healthy and wealthy.

Please do stay and take care.

God Bless,

Stuart

Well VH

It's already Wed. I never saw your blog come up this week. I had to search for it. I'm really not sure how the WA algorithm works.

In any case, this past week was a whirlwind. Sat I tried putting my raised garden together. It has metal sides and NOT easy to put together. I had to stop quickly as I got a pretty deep gash in my thumb from the metal. I still can't put pressure on it because it opens up. In reality, I probably needed a stitch or 2 but I'm pretty stubborn. lol So, I'm hoping to finish that up this week sometime or it's going to be too late to plant although my berry plants are going right to town!!!! Now I have to protect them from birds.

Then Mother's Day Sun that I celebrated with church, lunch and company until very late. The next day I woke up to my son calling me from Vietnam for my birthday. He's there for work and they are 11 hrs ahead. Then I had a LONG massage and lunch with a friend with wine included AND the restaurant gave me a birthday treat to share. Then I was on the phone until VERY late that night. I don't like being on the phone that long!!!! Yet, it was nice that people thought of me.

Today I went walking and picked up my $500 supports for my shoes. Looking at them, I can't imagine WHY they cost that much and my insurance does not pay anything. UGHHHH.

It sounds like you've been a social butterfly this week!!! The pub 2 nights???? Wow. You'll never get any work done. lol It's ok. You're old enough (and so am I) to do what we want. I'm happy to hear you've been out and about and singing no less!!!

I hope you have another good week ahead. Life is too short to let grass grow under our feet.

Take care!
Always
Your VW

Hello Stuart,

As expected, VE Day celebrations featured a lot in your week. It's good that you got to meet and catch up with a lot of people and generally enjoyed socializing.

I absolutely hate computer problems. I know so little about computers that when something goes wrong I have no idea how to fix it. It's good that you are going to get a new one, even if it's still a few weeks away.

I think I am like you. I only go to the dentist when it's really necessary because of a niggling pain. They are so expensive!

That sounds like a very nice Sunday roast you cooked. But I totally understand that you don't do that very often. I think if I was on my own I wouldn't cook many elaborate dinners either.

Have a good week. The weather is supposed to be warm again, so your garden will be calling.

Take care.
Isabella

Good Morning Isabella,

Yes not a bad week, just the odd problem!!

May pop into the Computer shop when I am in Town, to see what they think, might even consider being without it for a week if he can get my new one ready.

At the moment it is just one expence after abother.

Have a great week.

Take care,

Stuart

Hi Edwin.

Have you had your computer checked for viruses or malware? I wonder if that could be your problem :(

I hope you get everything sorted. Sounds like you had a great time during your VE time.

Keep on keeping on :)

Teri

Hi Teri,

Did carry out scans and everything looked OK, think it is just that the box is full.

Will keep trying :)

Stuart

Sorry to hear about your technological problems Stuart....

We all get them, so don't worry about them too much!

I don't envy trips to the dentist... I need to go back again this week and it will be about the 15th time this year after I decided to my teeth looked at..... hopefully this will be the last crown I need, then I can forget about them for another few years!

Take care of yourself as always my friend and enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)

I had not been too the Dentist since Covid!, Now it will cost!!

Have a great week. :-)

Stuart

Cheers Stuart! One of my crowns fell out just eating a tuna steak earlier tonight!!!

Back to the bloody dentist again tomorrow it seems for me....

I am off tomorrow, for extraction and a new insert into a plate, such fun!!

Not my idea of fun by any stretch, but.... I hope you enjoyed yourself my friend! :-)
