A Mess, Confused or Bone Idle

Introduction:

A good confusing title which requires some explanation. Have not done much on the site recently, for that matter have not done a lot of anything lately. No it is not procrastination, rather trying to do too much and getting nowhere.

Had a wake up call in the beginning of the week from someone trying to sell me a project, I politely explained that I was not yet in a position to spend a large amount of cash having been scammed.

Had an email saying borrow the money from PayPal, followed by another telling me that the offer was being withdrawn and that I could stumble along trying and failing on the internet.

To say that I was incensed is putting it mildly, however it did make me think.

Decision:

Deciding that I needed to think long and hard on these comments, went for a long walk to think and clear my head, it was no use sitting at home or on the PC so off I went, it did me the world of good. Now do this most evenings

Realized that I am trying to get too much done on differing projects, without actually achieving anything, a little here and there but apart from the odd and very occasional blog on a website, actually getting nowhere very fast.

Clearly aware that I am backing off doing a freebie and trying to build a list, have at last decided (aware that you have heard me say all this before) that enough is enough.

TIME TO KNUCKLE DOWN TO SOME SERIOUS GRAFT.

Read a post from Dave yesterday when he said that he was very busy list building, this made me realize that I must concentrate on just one major thing at a time, spending most of my day doing it, yes read the emails briefly, yes look st other things but major on one thing at a time.

Yesterday I realized that one of the PLR Companies that I use had been ignored so had a quick look, any material I download is paid for, so when I saw One Million PLR Items to download did just that. OK I am crazy, but am I had a very brief look, and will have enough material to do all sorts with. It will take time to wade through and catalogue but if I allow just thirty minutes each evening looking for articles for my blogs, it will be a start.

Not to mention that in the future I will have another niche doing blueprints, brochures and possible membership sites, promise that is way in the future.

Realize that it must not be allowed to interfere with my new resolution.

It will take me a few days to get sorted as other things must be put in place first, so that I can tackle the website and build a list, have anumber of articles to read which will help. Talking of help one of the new articles which caught my eye was on opt-in forms, always useful to have.

On the subject of articles, always believed that my blog articles should be around 1500 words long, have read on several occasions recently that 500 words is enough your thoughts welcome, on that note I will close.

Until the next time

Great post-Stuart it is interesting that you have enough material maybe you can use some to add content to your site. But that is okay you have done alot of work and didn't even realize it. That is a wonderful thing because now you can write the content for each of those ideas. Thank you for sharing this and best wishes on your journey with WA.

Mary

Thanks Mary.

You are so very welcome

Mary

Thanks Mary, the brain is now buzzing, wrote a new blog today for one of my sites, just checking out some content for lead magnets. Decided to have just five minutes on the site.

Stuart

You are so very welcome that is great news keep up the great work.

Mary

Thanks for sharing, can also relate to what you said about trying to do too many tasks at the same time.

Many thanks.

Thanks for sharing, Stuart.

You are most welcome.

I think blogs should be short otherwise many people won’t read them. Just my opinion. Hope it helps. Best of luck to you.

Thanks John, had this thought when I was writing the post, it is nice to know that someone agrees with me.

Looks like you intend to buckle down to it Stuart. It is very easy to get tied up doing too much and ending up getting nowhere.

Derek

Can but try Derek.

Hi Stuart, glad to see you are back. Lots of the time I just can not come up with 1500 words that make sense to me. All you can do is your best.

Thanks Mate.

It isn't easy changing courses and being in charge of our own future. There are many starts, stops, and course changes....I'm still experiencing that too. As you have found, and as I believe, WA still offers us the best training, tools, and support for online success. We just have to keep going. So good for you!
Debbie

Thanks Debbie

It is so easy to bite off more than you can chew. I have to keep reminding myself to slow down and chew. Just hang in there. Like you say, concentrate on one thing at a time. You'll get it sorted.

Many thanks for this.

Stuart I sometimes feel like you have felt! Trying to do too many things and not doing any of them!It is like a dog chasing his tail and never being able to catch it! It’s a complete waste of time and energy! I think some have misinterpreted what being able to multi task means. Kyle gives us tasks to,do but they are done chronologically and from within that particular part that he is teaching us.Multi tasking is skipping around doing different things at the same time! Impossible to do: like the dog chasing its tail!

What you did was realize what you were doing and you stopped doing that! That was insight and wisdom on your part! Keep being positive and upbeat my friend! You are not alone! We are here to help you!

Many thanks for your kind words and support.

Sounds like having more than one can keep up with will result in losing focus. If you have a goal, need to chart some steps to get to the goal and persevere to take those steps to get to the goal. There are often "shiny objects" along the way and if we let them distract us, they throw us off course and we lose focus on what we set out to do.

Just some thoughts a I have often found myself in similar situation and blaming myself for not having achieved anything,

Many thanks Syed, you are so right I do lose track and try the shiny object syndrome, but I am getting stronger at saying no. This has also helped me as I was about to look at something can now delete it, so many thanks.
I will survive and hopefully succeed.
