A Lost Day

Introduction

Good Evening to all you wonderful people at the Great WA Family, you read that right it is now well into this Sunday Evening, which is one reason for the title of this weeks blog.

I have had both visitors, this morning and also an afternoon when I was fast asleep for several hours!!

I do have good reasons for my afternoons rest, it was partly self inflicted as you will read.

The Last Few Days

I was invited to a presentation Evening last night for the Poppy Appeal, it was a pleasant evening, as I went with the Host I ended up helping to lay everything out, then hosting the local Mayor! Being me I refused to sit down standing the entire evening, which is the reason for my problems today!

When I woke up this morning my back was giving me agony, when my Son and his Wife arrived to give me my Fathers Day present, I was starting to struggle, spending their entire visit in my chair, unlike me I did not even offer them a drink! It was too much trouble to get out of my chair.

When they left it was time to prepare lunch which today was: Fruit Juice, Hot Honey Pulled Pork with Roast Parsnips and Roast Potatoes followed by Fresh Raspberries and Double Cream. The Raspberries fresh out of my garden and the first of the year, they were delicious as usual.

Must confess that the hot honey was a little to hot for me, but still quite a pleasant meal.

Despite receiving good advice regarding my garden did very little, did have two compost bins filled this week, I have also done some more work on the Rose Arch. I have a little space around the corner of the house just off the Kitchen Patio which for years has been almost a dumping ground for odd bits and pieces, at last I have began to empty it out, being able to see a lot of space.

Some of my new perennials have arrived and are resting whilst I find time to get the bed ready, no doubt it could be like concrete!!

I have spent quite sometime helping to get our Veterans Funeral, which is on Thursday, organised. I did have some good news yesterday, we have been trying to get a Bugler to play the Last Post, The Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines are sending a Bugler, I am delighted, they are the best in the World.

I went for a haircut so that I am reasonably smart for Thursday, must confess tho' it was not long, it does look better, as I have had my Summer Cut!

The Next Few Days

If I am honest I think that it depends on two things, one the weather and two how tired that I am, for example I am already ready for bed.

If things continue with how I feel I could do some revision or even look at some training, it will depend on several things, but we will see.

The garden and Rose Arch do need to be looked at.
